You can't preview your news comments, so if you make a mistake, you can't go back and fix it. And if you click twice on accident, you get a double post. I just wanna edit/delete my comments, because I'm sick of this crap happening to me.

Why not just slow down and re-read your post before you click Comment?

I don't actually mind this idea. I have nothing against it.

I've wanted something like this for a long time. I've lowered my expectations to the point where I'd be content with nothing more than a preview function.

I'm absolutely down with a preview button at the very least. Nothing worse than making an scode mistake in the news comments because 1. everyone sees, and 2. you can't fix it.

I'd support a preview button, but not an edit or a delete function.

Proofreading doesn't do much if you accidentally double-posted (for whatever reason-- clicking twice, site glitch, whatever) Same goes for a preview.

As far as double posting goes, they could just deactivate the button after you click it the first time. That's how the "Buy" buttons on the shop search work, and they do a good job preventing double purchases.

I'd love something like this. Even as someone who usually rereads posts at least twice, mistakes can still be missed. Refreshing also causes double posts, so if you forget to close the page and reopen it you can't refresh to see new posts without accidentally making a double.

There's another facet that might be worth considering. I feel an editing function could have a negative affect on content. News posts get emotional and personal enough as it is; I'd rather see double posts and broken code than drama-fueled post-then-deleters. Right now what's posted stays posted, and I think that's important for accountability.

Preview would be very nice.

How about like how on facebook you can edit a post but it still will show what you originally posted when you click on Edited? For those who don't use facebook:

When I click on that I get a pop up showing both the original post and below that the edited post.

For deleting posts, it could have a post saying it was deleted but like the Edited post have where you can click to see what it was.

coughs Since we were/are moving to making subeta like facebook anyway.

edit: This could also be used in the forums. Then everyone can see that I edited to not add this but to pluralize posts. lol I don't know though how much space this would take up though on storing so many posts.
