I like the Prety Little Liers books too, but my most favorite author is Tamora Pierce, all 28 books. It was her book Alanna: The First Adventure that my mom used to read to me before I could read and it was the first chapter book I read on my own. I love the females have power, and fantasy aspect:)

I can never really pick one, but Betty Smith's A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is one of them.

a billion of them? Haha, I'm bad at picking just one. I loved Haruki Murakami's Wind-up bird chronicles though, and also Hjalmar Söderberg's Den allvarsamma leken (the serious game, literal translation) but I dunno if that's been translated...

Probably Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. It's amazing. I could read it about a billion times and never get tired of it. I don't really know how to describe it so: Wiki-ness

A Girl With A Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier. It was such a great book. I normally can't reread books, but I have read this book many times.

I loved that book and the movie, but I haven't been right in the head since than. So sad!

My favorite book is Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut. And I also love, love Slaughterhouse-Five. And pretty much anything by Ray Bradbury. I'm honestly too lazy to write a summary, though. Maybe later. =P

A Clockwork Orange, hands down.

The Shining by Stephen King. Movie PALES in comparison. If you don&;t think books have the potential to scare you out of your mind, try this.

I actually found the movie to be better than the book. The book was good, don't get me wrong, but what Kubrick did with it was beyond incredible. It was visually stunning and brought out the intensity the book gave and multiplied it by 5. Plus, I did enjoy the ambiguous ending the movie gave.

Just my two cents. c:

I change mine all the time but I would say the Harper Hall Series by Anne McCaffrey. I first read it when I was in middle school I think but I still reread every other year or so.

I'm always willing to reread A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, but I'm a huge fan of the Wheel of Time series, too.

My two favorite would have to be A Gathering of Old Men, and The House of the Spirits.

My favorite books would have to be both the Obsidian and The Enduring Flame trilogies by Mercedes Lackey and James Mallory, The Blood Confession by Alissa M. Libby, Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, the King Raven Trilogy by Stephen Lawhead, and Lancelot de Lethe by an author I can't remember. I know he wrote Mad Merlin as well.

SO hard to pick... My top few favorite books are:

  1. EMT Rescue by Pat Ivey - the book is the true to life account of a woman who took and EMT course and went on to work in the field of emergency medical services in a small town. It's heartwarming and helps to open your eyes to what emergency workers do every day. I love it.

  2. The Shack by Wm. Paul Young - the book is about a man whose daughter is kidnapped and brutally murdered. A few years after the fact, he is recalled to the site of where she was killed and he meets God there. It's an insight into human nature and the true meaning of a lot of the things you read in the scriptures and is a wonderful book.

  3. The House of Night series by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast - the books are about a girl who wakes up one day and is turned into a vampyre. She goes away to school at the House of Night and meets plenty of challenges. It's a really fun and interesting series and a nice change from the Twilight hype.
