I need help with beating Mephysto. Everytime we fight he/she/it freezes me twice and the battle's over.

My pets' stats:

Level: 124 Health: 217 / 217 Strength: 207 Defense: 229 Speed: 207 Intelligence: 228 Tier: 3

I can spend a few mil sP if needed but would rather not at this point. Unless it's for weapons that will be beneficial in the future. I would like to be able to prevent him from freezing me the first two rounds so my pet has a chance.

Try a set like this:

Zephyr Wand Shrine of Apollonia Lords Sabre Phoenix Quill Sparkling Quill Ruffie Healy Bones Gold Quill Icy Freezing Rod of Doom

To prevent being frozen, you might want to mod your weapons with any of the following:

First turn, use zephyr wand and shrine of Apollonia. Heal when needed with phoenix quill/Ruffie healy bones/sparkling quill/gold quill. Use lords sabre+zephyr wand as your main attack. If his freezing gets out of hand, counter with a freeze of your own using icy freezing rod of doom (note that this isn't guaranteed to freeze your opponent).

It will probably take you several attempts to get a win. Also, you will probably want to use a divine denizhen scroll as your main scroll. If you are not willing to buy one, you can always opt to use champion as a cheaper substitute.

thank you for the info! I'm still at a loss as to counter the freezing though. The first thing he does is freeze my pet. Then it's only 2 moves (each time he freezes) until the battle is over. Does this mean I have to use the freezing rod of doom every move to counter this?

No. If you have any of those modification crystals that I told you about on my previous post attached to your weapons, then they have a chance of activating a blessing that protects you against freezing. Also, Mephysto isn't guaranteed to freeze you. I am pretty sure that the freezing rod of doom is only once per battle anyway.

Gate Keeper Collar of Slavery 100% freeze if your high enough tier 5 and use it with your quill this will fill your health and freeze him for next round to kill him with the iron fireside lantern and forj tempered kusarigama.

all 3 weapons are tier 5 so be sure you are tier 5 before buying.

ps if not tier 5 get there asap because most good weapons are tier 5 +

I equipped my pet with Lords Sabre, mod w/blessing armor tear crystal, and the Shrine of Apollonia, did exactly as you said and the same damn thing happened. First move I'm froze. Second move froze. End of battle and I can't do anything. I've modded all my weapons that I can with the crystals and it doesn't help. What else is an option to not be frozen the first move?

Like I said, it will probably take quite a few attempts for a win. Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do in tier 3 to stop a freeze. It is a matter of luck to get the blessing the mods give to activate. I will admit that Mephysto is hard for his difficulty level.
