So I'm working on a new image for one of my pet's profiles since the whole damn thing needs to be redone, I know what I want to do and I have the sketch but I'm stumped for a background. It's set in the late 1970s (before 1979), America. This is a subject I know too little about =S Any ideas? I don't want anything too complex, and reference photographs would be amazing. /so bad at backgrounds.

The main colour schemes on the profile are either going to be black and red or sandy/dusty colours with some browns and greens, I'd like to go for the later really.
