I find it really frustrating that new items and revamps are constantly being added to the site yet there does not seem to be any work being done on some bugs that have been around since I've joined the site. I think there should be a shift in priorities here. The one bug that is bugging me the most right now is that the +requires achievements link does not work.
I understand your frustration, but... The people responsible for the new items and revamps are artists not programmers. The programmers are steadily working away behind the scenes, but there is a lot of coding that needs to be fixed and there are several issues for them to work on right now. Not only that but, from what I understand, other aspects of the site have to be functional for the achievements to function properly and the code for achievements needs a complete overhaul. I don't think they are fixing anything on the achievement pages until they have the time to complete the overhaul. (I don't envy them that task... There is a lot of coding involved with those achievements.)
that does makes sense, and I did consider that there are different people responsible for those jobs. However, it does still seem that there isn't much attention being given to the known bugs (other than adding them to that forum) and maybe addressing their progress in the news once in a while would be helpful.
But nevertheless, I love Subeta!
I don't doubt that they are working away behind the scenes. Every so often I'll see an evident fix but I think a lot of what they are doing right now is on the development servers. While it would be nice to have a regular report, I think that:
They do try to update us occasionally, when they can or have made notable progress. I like to check the admin posts occasionally, because sometimes staff will give an update while responding to a user. -shrugs-
So the artists should lose their paychecks because you think it would make errors be fixed faster?
:(
This suggestion literally makes no sense. Stop releasing new features (new forums looking at you), I might understand, but the staff no longer releasing items would likely drive a ton more revenue away and cause even more issues.
I just wish they would handle bug fixes for new/revamped features in a more timely manner. The new forum was released over a month ago and there are still a ton of bugs, but it feels like they've moved on to other things already.
The same thing happened when we switched over to the new image server in January and a lot of images broke around the site. There was a thread for reporting broken images, but not much was done to fix them for the first several weeks.
I don't expect these things to be flawless on release -- especially when they're pushed early like the forums -- but I wish more time could be spent on bug fixes so we don't have to live with these issues for months at a time.
[edit]
Disclaimer: I know item releases and revamps aren't cutting into programming time. I ignored that part of the OP in this post because everyone else is going to correct them. :P That doesn't mean there isn't a problem that needs to be addressed.

Artists are NOT programmers. Why should their paychecks be cutted for something that are not even in their field?
I agree with you, ! The amount of BS that comes with the site's priorities is just that, BS. Item revamps shouldn't take 4-6 weeks to complete and bugs like the achievements page bug shouldn't take more than a day to fix. But then again, we're talking about a site that's existed for almost a decade and it still can't handle more than two thousand people online at a time. e_e
Thank you . I never meant to suggest that artists are programmers. I know there is a difference. I only meant there needs to be a shift in priorities. New art is great, and I'm glad artists get paid for that. However, the most important aspect of any website is that it is FUNCTIONAL and many aspects of this site are not currently functional, which I believe is a huge problem. Perhaps there should be more programmers and less artists working on the site (for now). If a site is broken, it doesn't matter that it's attractive.
There is no need for harsh responses, I'm not trying to bash the site. This is a suggestions page and I am only suggesting what would make me, as a user, happier.
Subeta has been and still is trying to hire at least one more programmer for a while now. (Or the help wanted link never gets updated.)
The site isn't perfect for sure but it's been running fairly smoothly outside of group pinging in the new forums. I don't really get why the broken site complaint is being made right now tbh. It's not like it's lagging because of an event or something else, and staff has explained the contract problem with whatever outside company handles the servers.
Maybe read up on the info from staff that's already in Site Feedback and stick around a few more months? :)

This complaint has been going on for so long it's not even funny.
I agree that it would be nice having bugs/errors be fixed finally however, they don't have the staff for that.

It's good to know they're at least trying to hire a programmer. I didn't know this complaint was made already, though. I've only been a user for three months and I haven't seen anything like it so that's why I was making it now. I also didn't realize how long the site has been broken for.
If you think this is a broken site just wait until we have a major event like a battle plot or a holiday with many new desirable items lol.

lol that is unfortunate to hear. The biggest event I've been around for was vesnali and it wasn't too bad then
Complaints like this have been around since day one of this site.
However improvements have been made.
There will always been issues as Subeta isn't as huge of a community as those annoying sites full of kids that post things like "PWN OMGEE LYKE" or user OR pet names like bubblekitten3092380 either. So it's a bit of give and take.
