How is it possible to win if ace trumps all the other cards? Won't that mean the only way to win an ace is to match it with another ace (unlikely enough as it is) and win the ensuing war? But then the game takes forever!!! O A O;;

It does take forever no matter what you do. But you could win an ace if it is the first or second card in a war, too.

You have your answer in the post above, but Card Crusade is a version of the game of War which always takes forever to begin with.
