Hello Subeta community. I just signed up today and from poking around so far it seems like a charming site. I used to play Neopets a long, long time ago, and so far Subeta doesn't seem to have the problems that caused me to quit. I actually ended up finding this site because I got curious if it still existed, and ended up coming across a mention of Subeta, so I figured I'd give it a try.
As for myself, I'm fairly creative and inquisitive. I've tried my hand in a number of mediums like drawing, writing and photography, but I don't consider myself a true artist in any way shape or form. I'm also a bit of a nut for history and mythology (mostly Greco-roman and Norse). On the other hand, I'm really bad at keeping up with pop culture, modern music and the like. I do enjoy watching MLP, however. Other than that, I'm fond RPGs. My most recent obsession in video games is probably going to be Assassin's creed, even though I've only played the first game. See what I mean about not being up to date?
Overall, I think I'd probably like to pop in to Subeta casually every now and again for some stress relief or out of boredom every now and again. If there's anything insider advice you can offer about the site, I'd be glad to hear it.

Welcome to Subeta! Lots of users here have played Neopets before, so if you've any questions you can try to ask in other site jargon if you need, though if you haven't played maybe other site knowledge won't exist haha :9 Below are some basics to get started, but if you've any specific questions, don't be shy to ask!

I have to say, it's pretty neat to actually be greeted by a staff member. It was easy to be invisible on Neopets. The forums here seem quite friendly from what I've seen so far.

^__^ The community is more tight-knit here, which imo makes it more enjoyable c: The support team here are very quick to respond and you'll see lots of staffs, programmers, artists etc. out and about on the boards too c:

Hey, neat! I'm just getting started in learning about Norse mythology--I've always been more of an Egyptology nut. I've started to play one of the Assassin's Creed games and loved it, but... it was on a friend's console that I can't get to anymore.
I don't have nearly as much site advice as Pumpkins, but in any case I hope you have fun here. :D
If can tell you one thing about Norse mythology: it's very weird and sometimes downright campy, especially when Loki is involved. Egyptian mythology seems "normal" for what a mythology should be, if that makes any sense.
Personally, I have a custom-built PC to play video games on. You can buy game controllers that plug into USB ports and get much the same experience as playing a console if you're interested. Not everything is available for PC, but there a quite a few good games, including Assassin's Creed.

I was reading a kids' version of the myths to my sister the other day and we were both awe-struck by the cross-dressing wedding hi-jinks. Though Egypt has its fair share of weirdness, especially in the stories that involve more NC-17-ish aspects.
That sounds great... if I didn't have a Mac. :'D I love Macs otherwise, but for gaming, not so much. There are ways to get Windows on a Mac, but they're costly and clunky. I'm keeping my eye out for a cheap XBox 360, if I can find one. Skyrim and Assassin's Creed would be the first games I bought if I did.
