Anyway, I'm 21, in summer school to push for graduation next year. = w = I have much love for LOTR, Doctor Who, Poe, gaming and science. Although I don't usually watch TV, I am wholeheartedly on the Downton Abbey and the Big Bang Theory bandwagon. And Doctor Who, especially Doctor Who! Apparently, the Doctor isn't the only Time Lord around here...? Subeta is actually a lucky find for me because I recently rejoined neopets to reminisce about my childhood, but then I inadvertently clicked on -something-. It lead me here and I Totally didn't expect how much Fun all THIS turned out to be (and how much better than neopets this is). The last three days was a huge blur. There's just SO MUCH to do here that I'm feeling kind of overwhelmed. On two completely unrelated notes, A) is anyone following FIFA? I'm trying to watch it to have a sports hobby, and I swear, every time someone tries to make a goal, my heart jumps out of my mouth. It's a very suspenseful experience. B) Is role playing a big thing here? I find it to be a most amusing activity.

I love your intro, glad you found your way to us ^__^ I don't do much sports watching, if I were staying with my bf right now we probably would, but I'm overseas so I don't have to put up with it except the occasional update from him. There is a small rp community here, but I'm not sure how the pace of RPs compare with rp-orientated forums, if that makes sense? c': I don't RP myself so I don't know :9

Hahaha you're quite the witty one! I've actually never seen Mean Girls so I didn't understand the reference for AAGGGEES. I love the Ether pic, it almost makes me want to make a nerd pet that has an overlay of that HAHA omg I'm such a derp.

The ether's a super duper duper expensive (400m) Millionaire Centre weapon, and deleting it gives you a book. I collaborated with a book high score reader friend of mine to buy the weapon and delete it :9 Because I'm an achievement nerd.

My BF's Dutch & I'm currently based in NY c: I plan to move their eventually but I am a lot lacking in the Dutch department :9

Role-playing is a huge thing around here! Toward the bottom of the forum menu, there is a forum called 'Role-playing'. I would link it, but I'm mobile.

I'm a Doctor Who fan. I mostly prefer the original series because I enjoy when the Doctor has multiple companions as opposed to one female companion.

Anyway, welcome to Subeta! There's a lot to do around here, that's what makes it so fun. :^) I recently rejoined Neopets - and I like the sort of 'childish' feel of it. I love how subeta is more focused on social interaction though!

I'm glad you ultimately got the reference. xD You should watch Mean Girls whenever you want to throw away two hours your life on a hilarious dramatization of social hierarchies.

A professor of mine has Dutch roots, and going from what he told me, it's not the easiest language to learn. They say that learning from immersion is the most efficient method anyway. Lots of luck to you though~

We meet again~ Thank you for the thought but I have located the RP forum. :) I'm just doing a bit of window shopping right now to familiarize myself with the kinds of snazzy stuff that are going on here.

I'm actually a bit jealous of the people who love classic who because I've been spoiled by computer graphics so the special effects of only a few decades ago look quite ridiculous to me. But I quite enjoyed the time the Doctor had Amy, Rory, and River Song simultaneously in his company, so I absolutely agree with you (though Donna Noble is a refreshing character).

That's one of the things I love about Subeta as well. In the way of social interaction, being children-friendly is what limits Neopets, I think. It does have its merits because of it though.

I'm just terrible with languages all around, I have quite a lot of trouble with pronounciation I guess? Even in English and Mandarin, languages I'm fluent with, I sometimes mix up sounds when I'm tired so x') Really not what I'm great at, but maybe I can pick some up haha :9

The thing that mainly frustrated me about Neo was that we can't really talk, and for a long time the staff didn't have much a sense of humour on the forums. I'm not sure what it's like since they got re-sold, maybe it will be better? Sometimes I still peek in and say hi, just because I've made some neat friends for ages c':

Being bilingual already gives you an edge for learning new languages~ Dutch people learn English from primary school too, so I'm sure that language won't be a huge obstacle.

I've actually never dabbled in the forums over at Neopets. From what I heard from SBers here, they're Horrible at role play. They don't seem to have changed much given that "Anyone found to be breaking our rules will have their account permanently frozen." is still displayed in red on top of every page. The topics look ordinary from a glance though.

I can't imagine the neopets population taking RP seriously, the Battledome Chat there had a pretty witty culture and lots of inside jokes with the older players, but a lot of that is gone now with the heavy-handed warnings u_u
