So, normally I don't do such things. I like drawing clothes though, so I thought I would give it a try. I'm relatively pleased with the outcome, but I would like to know what others think.
Jeweled Black Top - currently not working on

1st > 2nd: added highlights. 2nd > 3rd: Lightened the top up a bit.
No male overlay, not yet. No idea how I should do that since it's not really a manly top XD
EDIT: Stockings. I really like these, what do you think?
almost galactical stockings + progress

Any critique on those?
And opinions would be lovely, especially on the top. The way I did this was aweful and propably totally wrong. I suck at shading, but I did my best. I know it's not ready for submission yet, that's why I'm posting it here to get input on it ^^ But don't be too harsh please, I might just give up if someone says I can trash it and I'd really like to make this XD
Also, I do have the unshaded version of it, so I can easily restart with the shading ^^
The top needs alot of work, although the shape is nice. Have you watched the tutorial by ... I believe it's by ? It's quite helpful. One of the things I know you would need is a defined light source for your shading. Maybe look up how to shade a ball on youtube so you can see how light falls around round objects? :)
I really love the stockings; I think the 'stars' should be emphasized just a little more.
First, thanks a lot for the critique. Yes, I did watch the video, though I really had problems with hearing, it was really quiet, I'll try today with better phones or I'll just get the audio on my ipod and watch the video beside, I can't turn my laptop that loud. (but i know the problem, my voice is so tiny too XD) I will look up a few tutorials for shading (waiting for my tablet because it sucks with my crappy mouse xD) and try again tonight.
As for the stockings, I already got an idea, I will put the stars on it AFTER resizing, I'm sure this will look much better ^^ Would you mind me pinging you again once I am done with one or both of them? ^^;
You're welcome. I seem to find it impossible to get them, so I'm glad to help someone out. And I know, that video is impossibly quiet. I had to lay my head on my laptop speaker to hear it the first time, then I just turned it down and watched until I couldn't any more.
That sounds like a good plan all around. You can also ping # CWCritique (just take out the space) to ping a whole group of people (including me) and ask for advice. I like being part of the group because you get the scoop on the best new CWs.
I already applied to the group and wait to join, I believe only members can ping?
Also, I redid the stockings:

Are they better now?
I will just have problems drawing the item images XD I suck at drawing something else then landscaped and clothes lol but I'll try ^^
I'm glad I was able to work those out at least :D I have so many stocking ideas it's not even funny o.O Now I just need the item, but I'm sure I can find something, which leads me to shading again I guess :P I'll raid youtube tonight for tutorials ^^
Those stockings look incredibly nice. :)
Thank you very much :D Ever since I joined I was digging stockings like these and today I forced myself to get over myself and just make them ^^
I also played a little with the shading and added more light (though without having the time for tutorials now). I just want to know if I'm on the right way? and yes, the left one is positioned wrong, I know XD

The shading on the top looks much better now! However, it's incredibly dark. And staff has been known to deny things for being too dark to make out certain details. Hope that helps!
I see, thanks for the info :)
How about that? Would that be within the darkness-limit? ^^

The top still looks a bit dark. Here are some Subeta black bras that can give you an idea of the darkness you need to go, as well as how it should be shaded (and how the male overlay should look)
As for the stockings, I like the idea, though it lacks shading

I'll definately work on the shading again later and make it a bit lighter. Is it needed to submit a male overlay though?
As for the stockings, since they are supposed to be sheer stockings I'm not really sure HOW to shade them tbh, I might make them a little more transparent though, to show the sheer effect more. Maybe I'll find out how to shade them xD
It may be a little too dark still. I think you want it just light enough to actually be able to make out the line art. Here are some pretty dark Subeta items I've seen, maybe some of them will help! C:
Now I see the problem , thank you ^^ I will make it lighter when I re-shade it tonight, so you can see the outlines. But somehow the outlines get totally lost in general o.O Is this normal and is there a way I can resize the 250x500px image to not lose the outline details? Every way I tried in Photoshop made them either almost invisible or pixelated :/
In Photoshop, I suggest inking with a 3px brush, and tapering your line art on the inside, as well as thickening the line art a little in certain places on the outerlines (where it would be darker on the HA with shading) Then make sure to shade below your line layer, if you're not already doing that. Lastly, before you resize, merge all your item's layers together. (Make sure not to save over your file though, I've done this and it sucks) with it all merged together, when you resize it should prevent the item from shifting / skewing when you resize.
Yeah, for all clothing items, you have to make separate overlays for male and female versions, even bras. For example, the male overlay for the Black Bra: Link. It's basically a flatter version.
As for the stockings, you just need to give it a bit of shading to define the volume of the legs, and maybe the bottom of the feet. If you want to make them sheer, you should probably make them more transparent. These examples can help you (previews look weird, so I'll post the actual images):
These are the and . See how even though they're semi-transparent, there's still that shading on the right side.
The only exception seems to be the
I don't really see shading on it, but you can see how there's a bit of highlight to show off the sheer material.
Hope that helps! You can always look at official Subeta items for references

I'll see if I can make the lines thicker on the top, else I'd propably have to redraw it, but that shouldn't be that much of a problem, even though it would suck :x But I'll definately try it.
Ah yes, now I see the shading on them :o I used the preview option before and didn't notice it due to the base shading XD But that should be easy since it's only shadows basically.
Thank you both so much for your help, I really appreciate you're helping a newbie so much xD
[edit]
Would this be better by any chance?
I also shaded the stockings and lightened them up a little ^^
