Hello!

I've been on a long hiatus. Yesterday I logged in to check what Subeta has been up to lately, and I was really excited to learn about the custom item feature! I would be interested in giving it a try, too, but making custom items is rather expensive and I'm not sure if I can make anything that would get accepted even if I managed to gather the necessary CSC. ^_^'

Anyway, I thought that the logical first step would be to draw something, which, in this case, is a pretty basic hairstyle:

I thickened the outer lineart and made a few adjustments, but I think the inner lineart might look too subtle now. (Also, added one thing that I've wanted for a long time, a blue feather~ If someone else here knows Harvest Moon series, you probably know what I'm talking about. :3)

Well, the good thing about CWs is if you can find 9 other people who are interested in buying your items, you don't have to pay anything. It's most common for artists/sellers to charge 600 csc per person, and you get your own copy free, plus 400 csc extra.

That said, the one thing that jumps out at me: your linework needs to be thicker. In some places it's almost disappearing. The red version of the wig looks like it's shaded with black? Don't use black/greys for shading. Use a darker red or something similar. The green looks like it was shaded with blues, so that might be fine.

But those are just things I notice as a forum stalker and buyer. Hopefully, other CW artists will be able to help you a bit more. :)

That would be nice. I'd love to make some tribute items for some of my favourite games, especially Pokemon or the Witcher series. ^^ I thickened the lineart a little, hopefully it looks a little bit better. It's surprisingly hard to find a good balance. After taking a look at some custom item threads at the forum, I also began to suspect that the two versions I posted earlier might be too dodgeburn-ish, so I tried something different with the shading and colours.

I really love the red version ❤ I lovelovelove red wigs though I do agree with what was said about the lines needing to be thickened and different tones used in the shading. (I think if you just thickened the outside lines rather than all of them it would be okay).

I personally prefer the first two to the new verion, the lineart is nice on the new one but I am not sure about the coloured used on the shading.

Although I can't necessarily critique it, I just wanted to say that it looks really great! I'd be interested, however I only make male HAs ^_^

Thanks. ^^ It's true that the red hair's shading was a bit too harsh, I have to keep closer eye on that. I'm having some trouble getting the lineart just right, but I guess I'll just have to keep trying until it looks good enough.

I appreciate the offer, but as of now, I am drawing a blank on any male clothes. I don't really buy wigs because I love me my Delish Yule Wax XD Are you able to draw companions? I'd be interested to see what you come up with :) The blue feather looks really cool too, though maybe not being held?

I really like the red hair in that one ❤ The only thing I would say is that the lineart is a little pixelly/rough around the edges.

That blue feather is super cool, I'd suggest perhaps making it into a hair accessory or something though instead of being a held item as that would probably be more appealing if sold in batches (though I could be wrong).

I would like to give it a try, but I've heard that companions' quality checks are very strict. I'm not very confident yet, so it might be better to just practice the general style for a while before I tackle that challenge.

Ouch, the pixelated lineart is pretty obvious now that you pointed it out. I've been staring at it for too long to be able to notice things like that, haha. @ _ @

I suppose the feather would be more attractive as a hair accessory, but I'm still tempted to keep it the way it is. It's a reference to the Harvest Moon game series, where a blue feather is traditionally used to propose, so it would be more loyal to the original idea if it was just a held item. Aww, decisions.
