I hope this is in the right topic... I still get a little confused on where to post things, aha. ^_^;
But I want to try my hand in restocking, I've never done it before - besides from questing and all, but to actually go to a shop and scout for items to buy and resell... that's where I'm lacking.
Like where is the best place to RS at? And how do you know which items to nab? Like, do you go by luck and search random items in the shop search to see if it it's high priced before buying?
So yeah, if any can guide me here that'd be great! :D

A little new here but I have a feeling these forums aren't very active >.>
Ahem, back on topic!
I've RSed a little here and on other sites. The best pointer I can give you is to pick a shop and study it (not sure which is the best since I just started but I've had good luck with Beanbag and Minion shops). I'd imagine that the magic shop can be rewarding, but I haven't gotten that ambitious yet. RSing does take some work, but it will pay off eventually :)

//Oooh aha well hey thought I'd try. xD //
Mmm that's a good point! I often find the book nook is a good place to stock. But if I could RS big ticket items that would be great cause sometimes not all items sell well. fskhdhjf Idk. I'll have to try different places to see what's good before I stick with one. Thanks for the tips though! I'll have to see what all works and stuff~
Whelp, I'm not a superstar at it, so hopefully someone will come around and give some better pointers, haha. Subeautique seems to be really good, but it's got a lot of RSers already o.o
Good luck ^^

Look for items that pop up with a new refresh that only have one or two in stock. In my experience, those tend to be a little more rare, or sell better. Not foolproof, especially in shops like grooming or toy, but worth looking at.
In addition, this is probably obvious, but if you see an item during a quest that's listed in a shop for a fraction of how much users are charging for it, snap up as many duplicates as you can and hawk them. I was just sent after an Angelic Toilet Paper by one of the Cursed twins -- it turned out that it was going in user shops for 100,000 sP. The more experience you build with the items in question, the more you begin to see which ones are rare and worth snagging and which ones don't tend to go for as much.
For the best consistent profit I've found that high ticket items aren't really worth it. Sure when/if they sell, its great, but really the best source of income for RSing is people questing. So, pick a quester - say Maleria for example. She asks for weapons. So check out posts talking about her quests, find out how much people typically spend on her quests, then look to purchase weapons going at the upper end of that range. Library quests work great for this too since all the books are in one shop. Carl and Pete, who ask for food, are good too, but there are so many food shops that its hard to get a good variety of food, though if you've done the omen Islands map, RSing from Rathskeller Inn is usually decent profit.

I think the best way to start is by doing quests and do them when there's not many people on the site. When you come across an item that you can get in the shop for ~2,000sP but in the user shops for ~10,000sP or more buy them up. It's the quickest way to make a profile 'cause you know the item is being asked for in quests.
Keep an extra tab open on the shop search when looking through the shops to double check the user shop prices.
Keep a notebook next to you and write down items you restock for cheap and sell quickly.
This isn't a restocking thing but.... the donation centre. I go there to look for some of my wishlist items and have come across some good items to resell. Again with this keep a second tab open to see what the going price is.
Don't feel rushed during any of this. The pace of the site is slow, which is nice, and I have never felt rushed when restocking or even in the donation centre.
