Just want to understand why is a revamp necessary for beanbags, plushies and alike? To me it doesn't seem THAT important, but that's just me. So I ask, to know. Also, wouldn't the artists working on this kind of revamp be better off working on something new? Again, not complaining, asking.
Because a lot of the art is outdated and could use a revamp. The artists who work on the revamps may not necessarily be the same people who would be working on "something new". A lot of things have improved over the years, specifically the art generated by the staff so it's pretty fitting to update some of the older items that aren't up-to-par with the standards now. To me improvements, whether revamp of old items or not, are still improvements and make the site better overall. I welcome the revamps, it's usually on items I've never paid much attention to before but will after the revamp.
It definitely helps with consistency. If the new ones being released have a certain type of style or crispness to them, and the old ones don't, fixing up the old ones works a lot better than scaling back the 'quality' on the new ones. It also draws attention to some older items, and helps get them moving around again.
