Hey so, I've been on Subeta for quite some time now... and I still am unsatisfied with how my avatar designs come out. There are so many of you here who create absolutely beautiful avatars, and I can't help but wonder if you all have any words of advice for those of us who seem to be adept at this skill XD Any and all advice or tips are welcome!

My favourite parts of making a human avatar are eye and leg layering. Theres so much you can do in the way of creating different textures and a nice stream of colours. Colour matching is another thing a lot of people strive for, you want the avatar to flow nicely from one colour to the next. I tend to pick one item and theme my HA around it, sticking to 4 colours at most.

All i can offer in the way of advice is don't be afraid to try new things when it comes to layering and specific items. You may stumble across a combination that may surprise you c:

Listen to music, I literally just .. blast something and it comes out. I also built up my avatar on a particular item, and then I had more and more.

As said, don't be afraid to experiment and try stuff!

Thank you and I'm trolling the "How can that item be so cheap" thread right now and am shopping for items that people mention!

Cheap items are useful. I'm addicted to a lot of them honestly. Your HA don't need to be pricey to be fab ;)

I usually do like said and build my HAs around 1 or 2 different items I really want to use. I would suggest having a theme in mind because sometimes clothes can match really well in color but look weird because they are different styles (ie: a spring dress with winter boots)

Accessories are great but sometimes people can go overboard with accessorizing and the HAs can look cluttered. If you're building a HA and you notice you are using a lot of jewelry around the neck, arms and ankles or your bottom half looks a lot more simplistic looking from your top half, finishing making your HA and try taking one accessory off that you feel isn't really adding to the outfit.

What Wesker said. It's a lot of fun picking one piece of clothing that's a little flamboyant or "out there," thinking "hmm I can pull this off" then trying on different things to go with it until you come up with a cohesive theme and color theme. :)
