I've just been to a shop, that belongs to an inactive account?

This account is inactive. You can Change your Username to it! Last Seen: 2 years, 6 months, 1 day, 19 hours, 2 minutes ago

It's a huge shop with high quantities of certain items.

So? I didn't think there was anything that was supposed to prevent inactive accounts' shops from showing up in the search

Is there a specific reason you think this is a bug? Does it have items that came out within the past 2 and a half years? I mean I assume that because they don't delete accounts anymore that this is a possibility and the prices on items fluctuate so maybe the item that brought you to the shop has gone back up to their price?

I was simply surprised that there are inactive accounts "blocking" site economy. I've never noticed any dead shops before. There are tons of underpriced items in that shop, which are never adjusted to what other people would sell them for now. Also I ddn't know, that old accounts were no longer deleted.

So, if the owner came back, they could retrieve their account again?

That is correct. The accounts can have the names taken and the pet names taken (I believe they get free name changes for those) but the account remains in case the person comes back.

So, how that works?!?! I mean if I change my name to that person. The username to log in could be under my account. If the person who was away tries to log in, couldn't he/she could be trying to log in into my account?

I thought Keith made a change some time ago so that inactive accounts wouldn't show up on the shop search. I can't find a source for that though. :x

no, they wouldn't log in to your account because of the User ID number each account is assigned to. The name becomes whatever it was before someone snagged it, and then _###. I imagine they'd be redirected to change their UN ASAP upon relogging in.

I don't know to be honest. That is why I asked the OP why they thought it was a bug. I can definitely report it to check!

From the old Account Clearing info board: "When an inactive account has it's username taken, it gets changed to something else and the user is sent a notification, and also gets a free username change."

When you get a moment can you comment me the username so I can put it in the report?
