I'm super excited about my new Cintiq (because it's awesome and speeds up my workflow like crazy), but I dunno whether or not I should start making CWs. I tried it before with my old Bamboo, but could never get the lines smooth enough.

Do you guys use a different program, like SAI for the lineart? I'm also wondering what size to work at. I previously tried 200% of normal size, but when I reduced it the lines went all yucky. And what are the rules for BGs? Surely you aren't meant to solid shade everything, right? o_o

not sure if you found an adequate response for this yet, but - i wish i had SAI! stablizer doesn't work on Mac versions OTL i use photoshop and it works just fine for me! my canvas is 400% of the normal size, though i think most people just work on 100% or 200% xD

can't really say much on the BG rules because i don't really know, but the rules should be pretty much the same? i know that you need lineart and it can't be soft or gradient shaded.

Honestly I use GIMP with a mouse. I draw right over the supplied HA based at 250x500 then resize the whole canvas to 125x250 when I'm finished.

For BG's i think all the same rules apply but I've noticed a few did include a mixture of soft shading in some places. Like the older BG's look very thick but newer ones have some nice blending going on.
