I'd done this TOO MANY times. I've gone to edit the code section of my profile, and accidentally clicked delete instead of edit. Hours of work down the drain. I really wish there would be a "Are you sure?" pop-up when you click Remove.
This just happened to me, and I needed to suggest it. I almost just had a heart attack. -.- not amused.
I've done this...and yet I don't think a popup is the answer. I almost automatically hit okay on popups without thinking about it because they show up so often. Admittedly Subeta does tend to keep them limited but there are still enough to be habituated to hitting yes.
The main answer here is to backup your code. I keep copies of everything from custom CSS to pet profiles, to dashboard notepad and all the boxes on my profile.

Not everyone just automatically hits okay. I at least skim the the pop-up to make sure i clicked the right thing (usually when adding stickers to people's collections... making sure I'm sticking it, not sending them)
I have skeleton type code that I made and use for all profiles. However, when I'm trying to position columns to line up with the background art, I'm not going to constantly keep copying, pasting, and saving in a word doc every single time I move everything over 1px, hoping it was spot on that time.
No. That's dumb.
I want a pop-up. This is a place where pop-ups NEED to be. If you click yes to a pop-up and delete the code because it's become "habitual", then that's your fault. But I want it there so that it's not just 'oh shit deleted it with no warning, gotta start over'.
Omg yes please there definitely needs to be a confirmation pop up
If you're using the Profile section for your custom profile, all of your coding stays saved even after you delete the section. Just re-add the Profile section and you're good.
Alternatively, you can safely edit your coding from here without accidentally deleting any sections: http://subeta.net/preferences.php?act=profile
This only really works if the coding is in the Profile section and not in a blank section, though. ._.
I only really use blank sections though, since I have my profile information in there so I can always add it back after testing profiles. >.<
I just want a pop-up, man.
Not saying it's a bad suggestion, I'm just not sure if pop-ups could be that easily implemented on user profiles. I don't think blank sections were meant for profile coding either. Then again, I haven't coded user profiles in a year or two now, so... :'D
Maybe make a backup of your main profile somewhere on your hard drive or on Pastebin or something and use the Profile section when coding for others? Wish I could be of more help, but I can't think of anything else right now. ._.
Backing up frequently is always a good idea, but a confirmation box wouldn't hurt. Not everyone clicks okay/presses enter without thinking.
I already have my main one backed up, so that's not the one I'm worried about. It's when I'm coding someone else's profile, and I accidentally delete that whole section of the code when I meant to edit it. Recently I've just been coding the entire thing in a word doc, and I'll just test it when I'm done and fix it from there until something possibly gets implemented. :) But thank you for the suggestion!
