alright so i'm sure a lot of us have had that moment where we find the perfect skirt to layer under a top, except the top goes under the hand and the skirt goes over! it looks terrible, right? and you can't fix it with most gloves, because gloves usually go on both hands which would make the far hand show where it logically shouldn't, and the gloves that do come singular don't always match your outfit.

so what i propose are HAND GLOVES, gloves that come in all the skin colors and go up to about mid-arm. they would look just like the normal hand/arm and would layer seamlessly with the avatar base. they would also be transformable to match any skintone. i think only a left (viewer's right, the near hand) glove would be necessary, but both left and right can be made if the artist so chooses. what do y'all think?

[edit] whoops, i guess this should go under avatar suggestions!

I'm sorry I'm trying to visualize this and am failing. Some skirts in RL are so full that they would cover both hands while the bodice of the dress or the top you're wearing bares your arm. Layer the skirt over the top/bodice, right? 87*

Can you post an image in your OP showing what is going on that needs a fix?

I think what the user is talking about are items like that block the view of the HAs arms and hands.

Using as an example vs

With a skin tone glove it would be able to see the hand and arm

aha, I see it now, and I now understand why I didn't before... If your hand was in front of a really full skirt like this, but it was in the same position as the HA has your hand in, your hand would be making an indentation in the skirt pressing it down like someone just shook your hand you didn't reallize you didn't like, and now that it's done you regret it. To my mind, you would need a skinglove plus something of a transparent shading outside of the outline of the HA hand area which darkens the area of the skirt that you're pressing down. The area of such a darkness would vary depending on just how pouf-fy the skirt was.

The image you have there looks like a colorform-a cutout arm was put on top of a flat skirt- to me. There are other full skirts already existing that have a place cut out of the skirt for the HA hand. I did think the purpose of a skirt like the one you have chosen is that it is supposed to look so full that when you are standing at rest, both hands are hidden.

But maybe this would appeal to some? I think this is a clever idea and it might be fun. There are already some ear gauges that change the earshape and are Subeautique items and they Transform to the 10 basic skin colors. Maybe this should be part of the design of a light colored designer set of something really really flouncy and full.

Yeah, I've never been a fan of the skirts that cover that hands, but I think you have a point about it being strange that a policy skirt would have a hand through it.

Most skirts (especially the vanity ones) have a cut out already, but so could definitely see it being fun yo play with

as you can see, the skirt goes over the hand but the jacket goes under! except, jackets go over skirts and this jacket just so happens to layer really nicely with the skirt… except for the hand! and gloves don't help because they go on both hands, but the far hand shouldn't be visible. i could use that glove klassikal used in their example, but i'm suggesting something that would look completely natural and match the avatar base perfectly.

I'd love flesh-toned gloves to layer in the front of the avatar, especially if they'll layer nicely with the existing rings.

I support. The times I really need something like this is when I'm trying to layer something that covers part of the HA over a poufy skirt, like the new saggy cloaks.

I'd love some skin tone gloves, especially lengthy ones that go up the whole arm. I never know what to do with my arms when I cover them up. They just end up looking wrinkly.

And 's example stands out the most to me and I see why it's an issue 😔

Maybe instead of skin-gloves, the same idea could be implemented as realistic prosthetics? I remember there was a big to-do over covering HAs with human-looking parts because of the zombie overlays.

On the one hand I understand how it could be used to cover up zombies.

On the other hand... its one single glove - Not a matched set. At least thats how I see it.

I agree. There's not much you can do with a single glove as a zombie
