Careaper as Battle Quest opponent

I've been doing battle quests quite frequently this week and today I received Careaper as an opponent to defeat. Isn't Careaper a special opponent? I don't even have his listed on my opponents page. When I opened the link it allowed me to battle Careaper even though I don't have him as an opponent. I kept the page open after I declined the quest to see if it would let me battle him regardless, and it does. Anybody else experiencing this glitch?
