I see that some weapons can be modified. What are the modifications and how do I use them?
Weapon Mods come in the form of crystals. Tear and Baguette are the only 2 forms we have available right now. Not all crystals come in Baguette form (which simply means they are an upgraded version of the Tear crystal). If you visit the battle shop you can see varying crystals that you can add to your weapons to make them perform better in battle.
There's also the Parched Tear/Baguette Crystals and the Singed Tea/Baguette crystals which cannot be purchased in the shop but rather be won from the Forjs. (You can get this challenger from the Cash Shop) or buy crystals from user shops.
Some crystal mods help boost the icon damage with your weapon: Example - Your weapon does 3 icons of fire so to increase that a little you could add a Fire Tear/Baguette Crystal to give a slight boost. Or if your weapon BLOCKS 3 fire icons you can give it a Fire Defense Tear/Baguette crystal to block a little more.
But there's more to it. To put it bluntly and explain as best I can and I hope I don't confuse... these mod crystals help in this way:
Healing Tear/Baguette -adds a percentage of healing to your weapon that has a healing bonus. Of course this is random during battle.
Freezing Tear/Baguette -adds a percentage of freezing to your weapon that may also freeze a challenger. Works like the healing one. Of course if your weapon has a 100% freeze chance you wouldn't add a mod to it.
Thief Tear/Baguette -adds a percentage to steal if your weapon has that stealing chance with it. And like the freeze one if your weapon steals 100% adding a mod isn't needed.
Blessing of Natural Armor Tear Crystal -Comes only in one form and when added to your weapon it may activate a blessing to help you in battle. Giving you a 2icon block on all icons for a slight defense and will also protect your weapons from getting stolen if a challenger is known to steal during battle.
Critical Strike Tear Crystal -Another that comes only in one form this ups the chance of scoring a critical hit during battle by 5% but it's not always practical.
Parched Tear/Baguette Crystal -They offer a blessing and usually help prevent you from getting frozen if you go up against a challenger who is freeze happy.
Singed Tear/Baguette Crystal -When added to your weapons it can up the odds of the curse happening which adds extra damage to your attacks for a few turns. (Even if you've been frozen)
There's more and the other crystals have so much to offer but I don't know everything about them so someone else can offer you some help with that.
Also with Modifications, every weapon is different and usually the higher the tier of the weapon the more mod slots it generally will have. I hope this helped in a way and I hope I haven't confused you.
Mods are the crystals you can find in the Battle Shop, like . There's also and which aren't in that shop, but are drops from the Forj Matriarch challenger. The names pretty much tell what they do (like makes a weapon defend 3 more fire icons than normal), so you can go for extra elemental damage, but most people recommend the natural armor or parched crystals, as they both give anti-freeze blessings. To modify a weapon, it must have mod slots. Most weapons have one, but they can have up to four. To see which weapons have slots and to modify them, you have to go into your armory and click where it says "Click here to modify weapons." That'll take you to this page. Mods in your inventory will show up at the top, and then you just click and drag them into an empty slot on the weapon you want to mod. To save your changes, you have to scroll all the way to the bottom and click the button that says "Apply modification changes" and you're done.
