My phone is stupid and always seems to crash when loading Subeta. I would love to see a mobile version again!
Yes!, I have no idea why the mobile layout was removed.
Plus one friend that I referred was interested in usability of Subeta on a phone, so I think that this is worth pursuing.
Mobile Subeta would be fantastic. The old mobile version was pretty bad though, don't bring that one back. Make something better!
It had to be taken down because of how crappy it was. As far as I know there are still plans to bring it back but that will obviously take time to develop a new version.
I think that, yes, a fully functional mobile site - or app! - would be great. But I do think that the site itself has issues that take precedence.
We really need to have a mobile site again. The regular website crashes for me on my ipod, on my old iphone on my new iphone, in 2 different browsers and in several versions of IOS. The only browser that somewhat loads subeta is a piece of shit that just sometimes doesn't even refresh pages or react on clicks.
Sp, I would love to be able to use subeta mobile again. So pretty please, someone work on this usability thing. Mobile is a big part of the market, a part you can't ignore.

personally i would prefer an app over a mobile site, but i realize that's probably a bigger/more expensive project that might not happen. even if it was something with limited functionality, but made specifically to be used on a smaller device - like, if it let you play a couple of the games (random, spindles, any of the non-flash games), maybe battle, use the forums, zapper, organize your events, etc. regardless of the probability of that happening, I'd use the shit out of it. just throwing that out there.
a mobile site would be v appreciated again though, I can't really do anything on mobile other than checking my notifications or one-click stuff. Altho I would think that the new forums display better on mobile (haven't thought to look yet).
Thankfully my kindle runs the site decently, but I think a mobile site is definitely needed. -pokes all the staff-
I don't think they're ignoring it. It might be possible they just don't have a budget enough to make it happen. They could try to change it to the old format at least for now if that helps. Unless they decide to create one which could take years, patience and money.
The old format might not have been great, but it was great help to check in quickly to see events/news/TS restocks and stuff without crashing my mobile browser. I'd like to see it brought back.
I agree with . The old format wasn't perfect, but at least I could check things, play random when I was out, etc. Now the site just crashes my iPod and my phone. I said a long time ago that there were tons of people who wanted to use the site on a mobile device and I was told that wasn't the priority. I only see it as being a bigger problem as time goes by and more people move to some type of mobile device, and I believe it's a definite deterrent to newcomers.
I would love to be able to play Subeta on my iPod touch! But from what I've heard, I don't think Keith's planning on making a mobile Subeta -- at least for a while. Maybe if we got enough people to like this idea, he would reconsider.

Meh. It's the classic case of "can't live with it, can't live without it." My phone clearly doesn't handle loading the site's theme too well, as my browser lags and semi-freezes a lot. Since I still rely a lot on mobile use, it is a hassle and I'll sometimes skip logging on until I'm on a computer.
I hope some sort of mobile site or mobile friendly options (disable site theme on mobile; disable full avatars/signatures on mobile; such things) come out soon :/ The old one could be bad but was more functional than the new one for portable devices.
I wish we could make an app - it just isn't in the cards right now. It's expensive (And also a language that none of us write - so we'd have to hire people) and companies that even have a pretty unlimited budget (Neopets) still haven't put theirs out after years of working on it.
Maybe after the release of our next major feature it'd be something we could consider turning into an app itself (and trying to fit in wardrobe, maybe?) so that new people could find Subeta via it and come try it here, but that's still a longshot.

Not sure if this is much about an app actually, probably more about a mobile site that actually functions. Maybe a responsive version of the actual site. I think a lot of us are desperate to have something that works, anything that works.
On my iphone 4 and ipod touch subeta crashes my entire browser and on my iphone 5s it takes minutes to load the site. (For real, i have been in this window for 3 minutes at least now and the site isn't even halfway done with loading)

Yeah, I don't care for an app, but I'd love to have a scaled-down version of the site again. The old mobile version was pretty broken, but at least it didn't crash my ipod if I accidentally zoomed in the tiniest bit. Now I can't do anything on mobile, cause if I click a box to type something, it zooms in and crashes. Even just navigating around the site, it's so tiny I have to try about a dozen times to hit the right spot, and half the time it zooms in and crashes again.
Sometimes it won't load at all, and I'm constantly unable to set alerts because I have to refresh the page. Yesterday I spent nearly my entire lunch break trying to get it to connect, and all I got was a blank loading bar. It's frustrating to say the least. I would love to have the mobile version back.
The old mobile site was fine for what I wanted to do; training centre, forums and occasionally comments. Even though I can load the desktop site with no problems on my Samsung, I appreciated how streamlined mobile was, and the fact I didn't have to try and deal with dropdowns. I would support a similar, slimmed down site being reintroduced.
THANK YOU KEITH. Though, when this is properly functional again, can we please have a 'Switch to mobile version' at the bottom of the page? I'm pretty sure the only way to swap back if you accidentally click is to clear all your cookies, which is beyond frustrating.
