How do you make smooth lines on photoshop? I use the pen tool and they all end up being wobbly D:
Also, are there any free programs that makes good line? ^^;
usually the pen tool is the only way for me to do anything not wobbly hehe. :) hmmm.. It could be that one of the settings is whacked. Or maybe you are not using the right tool for the job? There are ways to do curves that help them be smoother, though honestly I would be no help with that because I do those freehand. Otherwise I would check resolution, a higher resolution can help with smoothing and also i'd check the brush you are converting the lines to. it might be that there is a setting in the brush for smoothing/feathering that may help as well.
I need to find the perfect setting for my pen tool then, I do freehand drawing as well xD
I use a hard round brush at 1% spacing (the brushes are not solid lines they're individual dots put down in a row, 1% is the minimum gap between two dots and makes the smoothest line. (click on the following images to make them larger -- note everything here is a .jpg and may have some visual distortion).
Example of spacing:
There doesn't seem to be much difference between 1% and 25% (the default) but there is a change in sharpness and detail available to you.
I also have some brushes I bought (it was a fairly large set for a bout $5 I think...) and I sometimes use edited versions of the ball point and inking brush, the first I use for rougher lines (note the texture) and the second I use for clean lines but I do often find it too hard for typical usage and use it for specific ideas and things, but you might find a version you like. LINK if you want the set, there are 30 brushes in the set + any variations you play with and for $5 I think the're great fun even just to play with.

The spacing (and other brush settings) are found under here:

Pressure sensitivity can be altered on Photoshop, it can also be altered through your tablet settings.
these are the two settings I typically use.
Sadly photoshop isn't as adept at smooth lines as other software, such as Painter, which can adapt to your natural methods of working, but it does get easier with time and practise.
Zooming in and moving quickly for long lines, and using the pen tool can work wonders too.
Some of it will be down to how you work and your own hands (I shake a lot so really smooth lines are never really going to happen and I'm not too obsessive over that, I like a bit of roughness, where as THIS ARTIST who also uses Photoshop IS very particular about her lines and spends ages working on them and erasing unwanted bumps etc...
