It's been a while since I've checked which of my pets has been nominated, but I know a few have been. I just checked it today and now only one is still nominated.

Pretty much yes. They can still be nominated again but chances are you should take this time to check their profiles for any coding snafus and what not along with any layout problems, or spelling mistakes/ect.
