It's a seasonal event called "The Great Pandemic" around valentine's day it lasts a few weeks. You get infected with the zombie virus and there are cures but once the event end for the year if you get cured and the event is over you can never get that past zombie infection again. Each infection is different for example I'm a 2009 zombie and my strain is called "love leper" or "love leopard" or something like that.

We don't know if and when there will more permanent zombie strains released. Vials were introduced this past Pandemic that allow people to be zombies temporarily.

How can you get the achievments from this event?

Most of the Survival achievements are once off (eg. the ones that mention the Shadowglen Underground release).

You can get the Kissing ones every year during the Survival celebrations. It'll be much like dancing where you go to the Survival forums and click under everyones HA. :)

But you cant have your heart or any of that stolen? i wonder why they arent retired
