In light of the popularity of the newly-created ping group for CWs Headed to the Pawn Shop, I think many users are feeling dissatisfied about the state of the CW pawn shop.
We like the pawn shop because it's a source of CSC when we desperately need CSC and willing to sell CW at a loss.
There are 8 pages of CW in the shop now and many of them have been stuck there for months with no interest from anyone to buy them.
Many users feel that it's unfair for the pawn shop to price an item significantly higher than what users sold the item for. The markup is anywhere from 50csc~350csc, depending on the type of wear and whether a copy is already in the pawn shop. But no item sold from the pawn shop is at the same price as the user sold the item for (except during the pawn shop sale a while ago).
Many users now would rather sell CW to other users at pawn shop price than to actually pawn the item, because in the pawn shop, the price of the item is guaranteed to be higher.
A current suggestion is to let the pawn shop price items at the same price as it pays a user for the items. User sells a wig for 250csc. The item shows up for sale for 250csc to all other users.
There will be implications. People may start to stalk the pawn shop all the time and good items will be snagged up really quickly. Items may still be stuck in there forever priced at 250csc. But it's an alternative for users who feel like the pawn shop is making extra profits from the users.
Feel free to express your opinion on this here, but please be polite and respectful to everyone! We're all just working to make the site as fair and enjoyable as possible for all of us.
Pings: Sorry to bother you, my friends. Any of you guys interested in this discussion? I know some of you are pretty involved with CW. Please ping any groups that you think may be interested.
Or, maybe just a flat 50csc markup. None of the 350 csc markup nonsense.

That could be more reasonable. 50csc to offset the cost of perpetually having some CW stuck in the shop.
It should achieve the same original purpose of the pawn shop, which was to set a floor price for all CW, because some CW were being traded at really low prices. Well, gotta pay a price somewhere if we want to control the market prices.
Also it is very discouraging to some users to pawn an item and get 250 for it, only to check back within minutes to see said item already bought for 500-600.... I know myself that I did a mass pawn a few weeks ago and within a day all the items I tossed in there were gone. But other times I can go back and pawn and item and it's still viewable on page 6 or 7??? the prices are off and I am sure that with the massive amount of items in there Subeta's possible plan of profiting has taken a nose dive. Sure its a great way for us to get CSC in a pinch but if Subeta keeps handing out 250 for every item turned and that item doesnt sell surely they have started taking a loss when it comes to the shop itself?
Another point is that even though prices of items do drop overtime, the item gets buried in the shop. Nobody wants to skim through 6 pages of CW to stalk a CW and see the current price on it.
Isn't it ridiculous that you can pawn a CS CW for 250csc, then the pawn shop prices it at 500~600csc? It's not gotta sell fast!
The only thing trouble I have with this is I think items dropping in price when it's been in the shop too long with the current system is a really great thing and if we drop the going price so much, it's not going to be a possibility anymore
I liked the original system best when the base price was 300 CSC to sell and buy the cheapest items that had been pawned the longest.

I agree that the markups are horrible. It doesn't seem exactly fair. I dunno, the system has never set quite well with me and definitely needs revamped.
Y'all are describing The Pawn Shop, it's acting like... an actual pawn shop? Whaaaa?
I don't support this idea. If you don't wish to go to the effort to sell your item yourself for whatever you can get for it, you can put it in the Cash Shop or Pawn Shop and should pay for the service.
