WHAT'S UP?

I am hosting a themed art contest with Cash Shop prizes! There will be EIGHT prize winners, if there are sufficient entries. I also have a bonus prize in stock, which will be awarded to one lucky winner; that winner may be any of the selected winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd, honorable mentions) or possibly even a non-winner.

WHEN DOES THIS CONTEST RUN?

This contest will begin April 21, 2014, and run through May 31, 2014.

IS THERE ANY LEGALESE TO CONSIDER?

All pieces, winning or otherwise, may or may not be used at a real-life noncommercial private event here in Alaska. Most will probably end up in a small photobox collage, though a couple of larger pieces could end up used in other ways (framed for display, mod-podged on vases, loved by me forever and ever and hung in my home, etc.) Your name/username will not be displayed in these settings. If this is a problem for you, please do not enter this contest.

It is also possible that one or more pieces could potentially get used onsite at some point. Should I decide at a later date to use your piece here on Subeta, diligent effort will be made to display credit as appropriate. (I don't have any plans to use pieces here, but I may decide that my life is just not complete without one of the entries as a forumset image, etc.)

WHAT ARE THE RULES?

  1. Each member may submit up to three pieces.
1a. To keep it a little easier for me to track, I ask that these submissions be kept to one post. They do not need to be done at the same time, as long as they are all submitted prior to the closing date of the contest. Just go back and edit your entry post.
1b. Do not edit your post after the closing date or you will be disqualified.

  2. All entries must be your original works. No recolors, no dollmakers, etc.
2a. If any dishonesty on this count is found in any of your entries, all entries by your will be disqualified.

  3. All entries must adhere to the theme "Little Red Riding Hood and the Woodsman." You are encouraged to feature Little Red, the Woodsman, or both in your piece. You may choose to include or feature the wolf in any format (quad, anthro, etc.), but a piece featuring solely the wolf is less likely to place in the top three winners. Don't bother with Grandma!

  4. Pieces of all sizes are welcome. 8.5x11" pieces make good framed art, of course, but also bear in mind that I need a large assortment of smaller pieces for the photobox collage, which is the primary purpose of this contest. This is one reason why I'm allowing up to 3 entries per person -- so you can submit a variety, if you wish.

  5. Backgrounds or not, your choice!

  6. Submit whatever style you feel comfortable with. Are you great at vintage-style storybook art? Fabulous! Make adorable chibis? Great! Convincing with realism? Grand! Do what makes you happy.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  1. GENDERS: Little Red is an adult female. The Woodsman is an adult male. The wolf is an adult male.

  2. Little Red has a pale complexion, longish mostly-straight dark brown hair, and green eyes.

  3. The Woodsman has a light complexion, fairly curly brownish-black hair kept short but slightly longer up top, and a matching shortish beard & mustache with a grey streak on his right side. His eyes are mostly brown, with a few flecks of green.

  4. The Wolf? Have at it. Beyond "adult and male," there are really no preferences here, as long as he is a wolf.

  5. Photo refs of Red and the Woodsman are available privately upon request. Drop me an smail.
