Neopets has awful quests, and Subeta's quests are far superior.

I got a warning on Neopets just for mentioning Subeta and saying their quests should be more like here. There is NO reason I should've gotten a warning for that. Neopets needs to get that stick out of their ass. Like really? I was giving them criticism, they should take that and use that to their advantage. I was more doing them a favor, trying to help them get their quests awesome like Subeta, than trying to advertise a different pet site (which they were claiming I was doing lol).

Also Subeta has the better shop system overall. I love that you can put expensive items into your shop, unlike Neopets which prevents you from putting anything over like 100k (really?).

And the forums are far better than Neopets. It just is, it's amazing how different the two are and how so much better Subeta is.

This is just a small portion of why I think Subeta is better, but there are lots of other reasons why as well.

Well, you can't mention other sites on Neo unless they're approved... that's always been a rule, and it does make sense... sort of. It's annoying that you can't mention sites like google or in the past JN or DtI (I was SO HAPPY when they introduced that "approved fansite" thing), but it makes sense that you can't mention Subeta or other pet sites since they are, in effect, Neo's competitors. You don't go to Walmart and loudly proclaim that you like Target so much better because it does this and this, it's the same idea.

That being said, I do think Subeta is a lot better than Neo in a lot of ways... those you mentioned as well as a lot more (gawd, the shop search here hugs it... and being able to search your account... hugs that too)... but it's partly because Keith hasn't sold his soul gone corporate like they did. This is still a very small company compared to something like Neo, and plus... well, I don't know for sure, but Keith himself was probably a member of Neopets back in the day (and someone feel free to correct me and please forgive me if I'm wrong!) and saw everything they were doing wrong, then sought to fix those problems on his own site.

I agree that subeta is a lot better than Neo. C: I love hoarding items and I can do that so much easier here LOL

But no, in reality I've seen people frozen and suspended on Neo for the silliest reasons. I wonder if that will change now that they've been bought out by Jumpstart though?

Neo definitely went control happy as soon as the whole corporate interference began to run rampant. I was on Subeta a long time ago and always enjoyed it back then. Now that I'm back, I'm very pleased to see the changes that were made; especially in comparison to Neo.

I was actually just thinking about this the other day! Some of my friends were never a part of Neopets and they wondered if they were missing out on something, some kind of experience, but I didn't think so. I used to love going there when I was younger and haven't seen it in quite some time but I dunno, this place seems friendlier? Like even more user-friendly, for all the reasons mentioned above. I was banned from Neopets on my first account for some reason that was never explained to me, too. I'm always shy and safe on forums but they're pretty keen on banning people for a multitude of reasons.

Neopets was the bees knees, though, back in like... 2001.

Subeta is like woah in comparison now.

I came here from Neopets over two years ago, and I haven't looked back much since. (: Subeta has its own issues, but its positives far outweigh its negatives as far as I'm concerned, which is a way I never felt about Neopets. I am so afraid to say (or even to do, in general) anything on that site, because of the risk of being frozen, and all it has going for it is nostalgia. Viacom ran that place straight into the ground, really, and I have a lot of doubt that the new owners will convince me to get back into it. I don't think anything can redeem Neo to me.

I was so happy to have found Subeta, though, and I was sold on my first day of play, even after the site went down for a few hours. ❤️ (My favorite things are the freedom, buying CSC with sP, the Shop Search, the optional bad word filter, the art, and the HA system.)
