Anyone who makes it through medical school, regardless of age, deserves congratulations.

However, I do understand the reluctance of some schools to enroll him.Being a doctor is more than just knowledge. Bed side manner, compassion and so forth also need to be learned and its generally life experience that teach us those things. That's not to say a young person can't learn them, but it is less likely.

Wow, good for him!

But I'm always iffy on these prodigies going to college at like 9 years old.

No one wants to hang out with a 9 year old in college, sorry. :| Building social relationships and interacting with others is a HUGE part of growing up. Yes, this kid has the booksmarts down, but can he relate to other people? Does he have solid people skills?
