I have 24 wizard tokens in my inventory and tried using one of the "vending machine" and the experiment that says something is wrong or other comes up saying you don't have the correct currency/amount

you're supposed to put them in the "Currencies" section of your vault. :)

Pixiel is correct. The Vending Machines (and any other site feature that takes Wiz Tokens) now draw from your currency bank instead of your inventory. To add them, either visit the wizard exchange in the Sacred Lands or click on them in your inventory and add to currencies.
