This is something I considered suggesting a long while ago, but I supposed the subject had already been discussed before and the community didn't support it. Well, truth is that I haven't seen this ever get a mention since I joined the site, so maybe with the new changes (like lifting the 24h posting time for new users and generally trying to make the site more friendly to them) it's worth to give it a shot.

I would like to see the first achievement of the "Longtime Member" series get some sort of prize.

That's because I believe sticking around for the first year is the hardest task of them all. When you're new here, you normally have no friends (while mostly everyone else seems to have been around for ages, so it could take a long time for a person to come out/blend in), a large portion of the items seem nearly unattainable, a considerable amount of the achievements is indeed unattainable and the site still breaks on you nearly every event when you're trying hard to have fun and catch up before item retirements. As I see it, unless a friend brought you over, you're quite unlikely to stay. :/ I know I've friended a couple newbies and they're all gone now.

Then when you get past the awful beggining and you finally hit one year... you get your first LM achievement (which is nice!) but you also essentially get told that "one year isn't enough" for you to get anything else. Like a pat in the back, it's nice but not exactly exciting :/

Since it seems to have been decided their accounts are too young to warrant a Loyalty Box, I'd suggest maybe a 1-month GA prize? Or a 1-week one at least. Because I think it'd be nice to reward the people who keep coming back even when they have no one waiting for them and no sunk costs / time attached to their account to feel bad about.

If this ever becomes a thing, I'd also suggest to not make it retroactive if at all possible, or maybe only make it retroactive for people who got the mentioned achievement within the past 6 months or so.

I think this is a really awesome idea and I agree 100%. The longtime member title is cool but it's a pretty big deal to stick around for a year, and a nice valuable surprise might help to recapture the attention of newbies who didn't really get "into" Subeta right away but still log in from time to time.

I really love this idea and the way you put it. It seems like the only people who stick around on Subeta are users of 2+ years and it's quite sad because you see new people trying to be nice and fit in when they don't and they can't afford any nice things etc. I agree with you here and I would love for newbies to be rewarded a prize for being here for a year. It may make them feel more valued and comfortable.

I agree that the first year is always the toughest on any site, and also agree that people should be awarded for just a year. I dont see as many new people on, and would love to make some newer friends. That might give them incentive to come on every now and again.

A wonderful idea! I remember back in the day (oh god, I just realised how long I’ve been around xD) how disappointed I was when I didn’t get any reward for the first long time member achievement.

A 1 month gold account or maybe some CSC would be a great little award for a first year, and definitely rekindle the interest for members that weren’t that committed the first year!

Great idea! If not a one month GA then how about 10 mil sp or a 250 csc card.

Something nice is definitely deserved. Im only just nearing my second year, but most of that first year was spent away from Subeta because nothing was keeping me here.

I'd just like to add that I don't really see it as necessary, but the 'non-transferable' characteristic of the LB could be kept if desired. There could be a "mini" GA loyalty totem (which could use nearly the same item same art as the other one, just change a bit the wood color or something small) worth a month of GA use c:

[edit] Yes, I definitely think a bit of GA time would be the best option, since it makes you do more things on the site and allows you to earn some more sp (autoprice, more quests!) to buy another GA and then maybe you'll even drop a bit of cash on the site, etc. xD

I think this would be really great! I'd support this! It would be a good way to say to the possible new long-time User: Hey, you are really welcome here!

I like this idea. It would definitely give people a reason to stick around. I logged back in, then realized I had a loyalty box for being here 2 years. I got the GA medal and have been playing for a bit. Found new stuff to do. A smaller reward at 1 year would help people get back into the site.

Why would they skip the first year? Like the OP mentioned, it's the hardest. :| That's like saying a one year anniversary in a relationship isn't worth anything because one year isn't long enough to warrant any praise. A year is a long time.

I think a loyalty box is still deserved... like, hey you didn't quit after you started, you're loyal!
