how america invented bmx but all these random countries like latvia and colombia dominate it in the olympics
though i doubt we really send our best there on account of the x games being a larger stage for bmx at this point, plus that happens yearly
I dunno, a lot of countries aren't the best at sports they invent. Like Britain gets thrashed by others at Table Tennis, and barely even play things like Baseball, which originated here (or rather the precursor did).
Though I've never understood why basketball is so popular in Russia, haha.

Hehe, Britain fails at most things it invented :c
but yeah some of the countries that dominate in certain events just seems so random
haha yeah, you'd think the chinese/japanese/koreans invented table tennis also james naismith (basketball) was technically canadian...though he invented basketball in massachusetts haha
and hey, baseball was perfected here, that's why we're best at it :P
That's the truth haha.
I like how Baseball was voted out of the Olympics this year... lol. Is there a reason Cuba seems to have won like 5x as many golds as anyone else in the Baseball world cup? I kind of just assumed America would dominate, so that stat surprised me.

most cubans/venezuelans/puerto ricans/etc. play baseball in the united states, major league baseball isn't dominated by american-born people
also softball was voted out because of a similar american dominance (they won all but one gold, which japan won)
Oh I see. Ehh, if they don't like America winning all the baseball/softball golds, they could just restrict each competition so that a nation can only enter one team... like they did with cycling and Britain. That's kind of a bullshit rule though, if one country outshines the rest at a sport, too bad. Hardly anyone whines about Jamaica dominating the sprints.

jamaica and usa dominate sprints heh and they did already change the rules so professional baseball players couldn't play in the olympics - but the dominance continued. oh well
Oh yeah, forgot USA did well in some, particularly the women's. S'pose I should give some credit :P

I didn't even know the olympics had BMX. lol I really only watch the X Games though. I've never watched the olympics.
