I hear drips on my ceiling sometimes. You can feel the vibrations of them if you touch it. Probably leaking through the roof to the loft floor? Oh well, it's never leaked through so... ¦)

Get an electrician in asap. You're risking fire and the light shorting out. Wet clothes will be the least of your worries then.

Yeah calling an electrician is the best idea. That can be really dangerous.
