So, I've been getting books and reading them to my pet for those sweet sweet chievos, and occasionally when reading it'll say: "Desu_noto has gained an alchemy point!"

what does this mean? how do I use this elusive alchemy point?

You get an alchemy point for every 16 intel point (if you read a book on that 16th point), and they're used to equip scrolls in battle :)
