I'd like to adopt out my pet, Airida, but I don't know if its allowed. I don't really like her much anymore, but I don't to just abandon her. Are we allowed to adopt out?

Yup! There is an adoption Forum right here. You just aren't allowed to sell them for SP/items/$$ or trade them for other pets,
