Hi, What are these mysterious things called "alchemy points," and how to you obtain them?

Alchemy points are obtained by reading a book to a pet on every 16'th multiple of intelligence (ex.: 16, 32, 48, 64, 80, etc). They are used for equipping scrolls in battle. Certain scrolls require a certain number of alchemy points to be equipped, and you can equip as many scrolls as your alchemy points allow.
