So. I'm on the pill and lately I can't remember to take them. I know it's just stress. We've had a lot of things going on lately. My dad lost his leg. My mom has cysts on her ovaries. My dad lost his job (bastards fired him after the first week). There've been money troubles because of all of it. We're losing our car. On and on. I feel like I'm just waiting for the next thing to break.

Anyway. I know it's just stress. I've never had this problem before. I have dinner and immediately afterwards I take my pill, but lately I'll forget two (sometimes three) days in a row. That has to be bad for you, right?

I can't use my phone's alarm because I don't have it with me all the time. I'm so scatterbrained lately I'll just sit it down somewhere and forget it.

Any ideas? :(

First off, I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties at home :(

I was going to suggest the cellphone alarm, but if you don't have one on you all the time then it's not going to be much use. Is there any time of the day when you consistently have a set routine that the pill could slip into? It sounds doubtful that you go to sleep at the same time every night, but what about favorite TV shows that you sit down to watch at the same time every day? It would be a queue to remind you, and it doesn't necessarily have to be a show, just something you do consistently every day

you know what i'd do?

i'd have a big fat sign made on a piece of notebook paper taped to the bathroom mirror so that i'd remember and take it every morning before i left the bathroom.

i'd also ask my mom or parents to help me remember by occasionally changing the sign at random (to help you to 'recognize' the sign each week). maybe use different colors of paper... a drawing etc... with TAKE YER PILL on it.

i suggest having your mom/folks change the paper so that you don't expect it and it keeps the reminder fresh.

Are you taking it as a birth control or for something else (like acne)?

If it's for the actual pregnancy prevention, there are other types of birth control you could get on. If you aren't horribly afraid of needles, then Implanon is great. It's a tiny rod that's injected in your arm. That's it. And, it lasts for three years. (Also, after you've been on it for awhile, your period is close to nothing, lol.)

If you dont want to have kids for a long time you could get the shot called. Deprovera(sp?) I was on it and it stopped my peirods completely. But I stopped taking it when i got married and it took 3 years to have a baby. So thats something to think about.

Nah, it's to keep my periods...manageable lol. I don't really have money for anything else right now. I use sprintec and it's $9 a month. Which is basically all I can do right now.

Those are some good ideas :3 I'll try taking it when the news comes on at night.

I know right? I still have mine; they just don't make me sick and achy like they used to. Thanks :3 I hope it works. It drives me nuts that I forget something important like that and not just once or twice.

I would take it at a time that I remember... getting in a routine is good. I can only remember my pills at night when I brush my teath, so that's when I take them =)

try taking it at dinner/lunch. since you usually do eat around the same time everyday, it might be a nice reminder?
