Okay. Don't hate me keith lawl.
But for srs. I understand that the whole, choose what you want deal was supposed to be good for us users.. And I suppose for some it is. BUT, it sucks for those who cant afford to buy collections/dps/whateveritscallednow every month. Alot of the time, I'll wait for dp items such as minions to deflate after they've been retired and buy them with sp. Now, with this new development, I cant.. well, I can, but its ridiculous.
Say we were back in old days where the dp prizes were random, I highly doubt this:
Would be 20 mil. and theres ONE in shops. O_O. You get what I mean? Everyone is picking what they want from the collections, and then theres pretty much no way for you to get an item you like after the month is out, at a decent price.
Rant over I think. :D Plus, I reckon the old way was much more fun. -sniff-
And yes I know this has been said and discussed and ranted about and such, but I just felt like it was my turn to blabble. If you don't like it you shouldta read this far kthaaanku
It's less a collection issue, and more of a Glade-pet thing, honestly. I bought that one for Carey as soon as they were released.
Oh, and these can still be gotten from Lumineve Present / Maybe Miniature Vendinh Machines?
I know I got a Hello Kumos doll from either of these, quite recently, and they were a January collection.
But but but. Its still hard k. -cries- :P But i see what you mean. And whut? Miniature vending machines? Am I missing something here?!
I guess the old saying 'you snooze, you lose' applies here...
They're the prize for the 10 000 vending achievement, and this item give out 3 random old DPs when used. :)
.. Thats fully sick. ;O. -vends like mad- Bahah. :D
And yeah I guess, Jessyta. Still sucks though!
The collection itself is only 5.5 million... you could always buy that and then choose the plushie...
I know what you mean though, about the minions and plushies and such being worth more now because of the new system, but it also helps lower the prices of the wearables a bit, so I prefer this new method myself... though I still rarely buy DPs. XD
While I understand your point, I have to say that with money as tight as it is for me, when I do have the chance to drop some cash, I heartily enjoy being able to choose the item that I get.
Well, though it may suck for the users, the collection thing is a smart business move, which is how subeta operates, after all :D

Blarrghhgarble. Nah I know why subeta made the change, but I still felt the need to bitch and moan about the damn gladeling. BAHA.
I just miss the good old days where all most people wanted from the DP's were wearables, so everything else would drop down to a couple mil within a week or so. Sigh. ;(
I like the way it is now better. People who pay actual cash for their DPs don't have to buy 6 or 7 to just get the one item they are wanting.
If I want one specific item from the month, in the past I may have to buy 3...5... even 10 DPs before I got the item I wanted. That's $7.50 - $25.00 spent to get one item. Now, if I want one item, I will probably only spend $2.50 to get it.
I realize that some people buy cash shop items to resell... but I bet if posted stats, we'd see that less money is being brought in using this new system, as compared to the old...
Actually, we were typically making more money when people had to gamble on the items they wanted. Now, because you get to pick your present, people aren't buying dozens of Collections every month in order to try for their favorite item.
We did this strictly for the users, not for the dollars. :)
Personally, I love this new system. I would much rather buy a couple DP's and know that I'm going to get exactly what I want, rather than quite a few of them and still possibly not get it. I actually by them with cash now, before I wouldn't because it seemed like a waste when I could just buy the item later....
I actually got to post about something relating to my job! FTW!
Are you kidding me? How does that at all make sense? I used to have to pay either 8 mil for 1 dp item or open 4 or 5 dps a month trying to get that one item I wanted. I was jumping for joy when this was implemented cause I basically pay 3 mil per item for exactly what I want, meaning I spend less on subeta.
Well, here's the logic Chiasma, if you really can't see it - People may be dissuaded from buying DPs if they don't even know what they'll get, whereas if they know they'll get exactly what they want, those who normally wouldn't risk it would have complete incentive to. Granted, I was proven incorrect, but my hypothesis wasn't ungrounded ;)

Actually I prefer the minions being worth more, at least now they are worth getting. And fact is even if the minion is selling for that much the actual collection isn't.
The people who were dissuaded from buying the actual DPs in themselves would have just bought the items other people got from the DPs just as I used to. But to get that one item, someone had to open up a whole bunch to find it. Ergo, that would have meant more DPs were opened in total, more than one person buying one dp for a particular item.
Also, another separate point is that while there is a lot less deflation of the items, there is also much lower inflation from the items due to the items being able to be chosen so the dp isn't 'wasted'.
