Okay, so, my grandpa left the door open today, and now theres fifty trillion flies in the house! He did this yesterday too. And I'm the one who has to kill them because nobody else cares enough to do it themselves. Ya know, is it really THAT hard to shut the door? Do you want flies leaving their spawn in your house? I think not. And I tell him he lets flies in the house, but still. He does not care.
Then maybe you should check often to make sure the door is shut, if you care that much about them. Also, exaggerations are not your friends.
I do check all the time, I'm sitting right next to it.
Flies aren't that common at this time of the year where I live so I don't believe I've ever had a situation like that occur. Just close the door after him? Perhaps he's having a hard time hearing you? (like my grandpops) :]

yall should get a screen door to where u could leave the main door open without flies coming in. and its the same way here lol
Ping me ;)
^ we do have a screen door! Thats the door he leaves open!
What's up with you and your grandparents? Everything they do seems to bug you. Pun not intended.
But back on topic, it can be an OCD or something; my brother does the same thing with his closet door and some other doors.
I think "is it seriously that hard to ___________?!" could be applied to SO many similar situations.
I've been working in hospitality for the past 6 months, and it absolutely ASTOUNDS me that people find it so fucking difficult to PUSH IN THEIR DAMNED CHAIR when they leave the table.
It's perhaps not a life threatening issue (until a 90 year old lady trips over a strewn aside chair and breaks her collar bone, I suppose), but it's a minor thing that I encounter on a daily basis that just really gets my goat.
I was always taught as a kid that it was polite to push your chair in when you got up to leave the table. It kind of just became a natural behaviour for me. IT MAKES SENSE. It creates a tidier and more easily accessible environment... and it takes MINIMAL EFFORT.
Fuck. People are so lazy.
That's frustrating. :[
Though at my house. Its more like "Is it seriously that hard to pick up your freaking shoes?!" My dad takes them off, and leaves them in the middle of the kitchen.
Though last summer, my brother was moving things in the basement and decided to fill the bird feeder. And in the process, left the bag open, as well as the garage door AND the house door. So we had moths breed in it and them they moved inside. Took FOREVER to get rid of them.
ahaha my dad's the same way (i'm a late VERY late child) he's 80 years old and stubborn, doesn't think anything is wrong. Just make sure the trash cans are covered (I put a newspaper over it) this is where they will lay eggs
If they leave it open, get up and close it. Keep a flyswatter handy. There's not much else you can do.

Seriously, what's up with you and your grandparents? Stop complaining for once in your life, grab a flyswatter, and close the door yourself. It'snotthathard, princess.
I don't understand why if you're sitting right beside the door you can't get off your ass and just close it?

Fer serious. :/
