sigh I just dont think people like my overlays.

I worked hard on them! Is there anything I can do to improve?

You are pretty good at adding little details to the picture. but as for colouring the full pet... =/ Maybe add a bit of highlights or more shades? It just looks to plain.

But you have potential. :) Just keep working at it.
