DEBATE: Selling, Trading, Giving away usernames?

Tired of impolite judgements.
Selling names is illegal on Subeta; however, a mutual swap with name changers for no profit is allowed.
The set rules are reasonable as far as I'm concerned.
How did this get in general discussion. Dammit I swear I posted this in debates. BTW Frufraw that is not true. It is not illegal on subeta as of yet. I've personally spoken with a mod.
Seriously though how did my board get to general discussion instead of debates :(
Selling pet names isn't allowed, it's not for me to say but I'd be inclined to doubt that usernames would be different.
And it was moved because the debate forum doesn't allow subeta-related threads.
Thats not true xD Ive had this name for 2 and a half years, it was the name i selected when i made the account, And am still Happy with it, And am not willing to change it :)
As for selling usernames, i dont think it should be allowed, not safe enough, and well, is more costly than selling a pet :/

The person could easily just not change their User name after being paid , or even lie that they even own an ISS
If each has their OWN ISS and no sP or items are exchanged for the names then there are no problems as long as both parties realize that they are not guaranteed the name they want.
When you basically beg for an item and sugar-coat it by saying that you are selling a name...well that is akin to selling pets in my opinion. And if there was a rule for every single tiny minute situation, that would be a lot of rules. I think this falls under the same concept as selling a pet and Keith and the admin team shouldn't have to spell everything out.

<p>As for speaking for subeta staff I for a fact know that Keith likes to hear the opinions of other subeta players (everyone meaning not just you, which means i would be included in that) and being as I am acquainted with Keith on a slightly more personal level feel that he would NOT consider it "spelling it out" In fact I am sure he would be very kind an understanding of a new idea that a user came up with, even if the ending result was they decided it was not allowed.
On the contrary, I am quite capable :) I was just stating my opinion for this debate :D If you didn't want an opposing view you really shouldn't have called this a debate. I wasn't "speaking" for any staff member and did not mean it that way. I am just saying that rules are in place so that users can use them to help make decisions on what is right and wrong.
Selling a name is selling something that you cannot guarantee, therefore in my opinion it should not be allowed. And since we already have a similar rule in place, they shouldn't have to add a new rule.
