is getting to be quite annoying.

Here's the story. My ex broke up with me not too long ago. I wasn't hurt by it at all because he was starting to trust a person with malicious feelings toward me at the time over me. We still stayed good friends and in some ways acted like a couple. He would start to take it too far by trying to touch me in certain places that he shouldn't be and even trying to take off my clothes...I'm suprised he doesn't have a permanent red mark on his face from all the times I've had to smack him.

A week or two after the break up I went to a concert and while I was there I met a guy. It's hard to describe it, but I just felt comfortable with him. The fact that he was kinda hitting on me a bit helped a bit too. lol! When he asked for my number, I was a bit apprehensive at first, but I gave it to him before we left. I didn't expect him to call at all, but the next day he did. We started talking more ang getting to know each other better and before I knew it I was falling for him and found out that he was falling for me as well. We told each other we would go on a few dates before we were sure that we wanted to be together. The few dates weren't nessassary for that, we pretty much knew on the first date.

And here's where my ex gets in the way. He seems to expect me to answer every time I call him, so he would get mad when I would not answer my cell. Like, to the point to where he was calling me all sorts of cruel names. When my boyfriend comes to see me, we usually stay out late because we want to spend as much time together as we can, so I don't call my ex because I am out and because I'm with my boyfriend. My ex will then just call me at 7 in the morning to tell me I'm a terrible person for not calling him and says things that he knows makes me feel bad. But then he'll call late in the day and everything is fine again. It's annoying and I think it is putting a bit of a strain on my relationship with my new guy because I'm constantly upset about the things my ex has said.

I KNOW I want to be with the guy I'm with, but I don't want to lose the friendship with my ex. He's actually an awesome friend when he's not trying to freaking molest me or having mood swings equivalent to that of a pregnant woman. Once he finds out about my boyfriend though, he'll want nothing to do with me anymore because he has stated that he can't even stand to be around me if there is no chance I'll be his. But that makes me wonder, why the hell did he break up with me if he wants to be with me?

Grr...my life is a freaking soap opera, minus the people that die and mysteriously come back to life.

Tell him that he lost his chance with you, and that calling you names and treating you like crap isn't the way to go about getting you back. You found a guy who treats you well and he's so much more worth it.

It really sounds like you need to let your ex know where his place is. Be sure to tell him that you two AREN'T together anymore, and he doesn't need to act like you should dedicate yourself to him. If he doesn't stop harassing you, get the authorities involved... that's just wrong.

Talk to your ex, and tell him his abuse isn't scoring him any points. Tell him if he keeps it up, you'll break off all contact. Follow through on it, if necessary.

You might think he's a 'good friend', but what kind of good friend would do that??

What you do is turn off your cell (tell your current boyfriend 'bout this beforehand) and not answer you home phone at all for a couple of days. Then when you do turn you cell and home phone communications back on, and he calls tell him that you didn't answer due to the verbal abuse from him. Then threaten him that you'll cut all contact from him if he continues verbally abusing you. That should make him think 'bout what he is doing.

I don't think you need friends like that, sorry to say. :(

Doesn't sound like a good friend to me.

Tell him exactly where he stands. You two are friends, and while you've got a history, you're not his anymore. He needs to understand and respect that.

Uhm, listen to yourself there for a bit. I wouldn't accept a friend like that, no matter how awesome he might be in periods. He sounds like bad news, and if he's that much trouble you shouldn't really be friends with him. He's an ex with a bad temper after all. And you're not obligated to call him all the time O_o
