I want opinions, please. Your best and worst Spyro experiences. :)

Best: Ripto's Rage or Year of the Dragon. Both the perfect examples of the series.

Worst: Enter the Dragonfly. lulz.

I've recently started playing all of the PS/PS2 games again and I want to know what other people think.

And I also have to add that, whatever all the reviews out there may say, A Hero's Tail isn't half bad. :P

All of the PS1 games are gold. Spyro the Dragon, Ripto's Rage!, and Year of the Dragon.

Everything else after that... Well, garbage. After Insomniac sold the rights to Spyro, it went right down the tubes.

Yep, you're veryveryvery correct. :D

I only bought the original game a few weeks ago off of ebay. I've had the second and third since they came out when ye olde PS1 was still being sold.

The ONLY thing I could say about the first game is the lack of being able to swim. :( That made the other two games even more epic. And it's not Tom Kenny's voice. :P

I've had all of them since I first became interested and we got our PS1, but I got the collector's set with all the PS1 games a couple years ago because our old copies were horribly scratched. Rofl.

Yeah, kinda sucks. First time I played it in a while, I flew into the water thinking I could swim XD I kind of find the first game a little more challenging than the others though. But it's still kind of short.

Yeah, I agree that it's shorter and more challenging. Some of those levels were tough as nails. The one that had Treetops in its name - I almost broke my TV with the controller. xD

Ripto's Rage was easier than YotD, I think. Fireworks Factory had me stumped for about four years. :P

TREETOPS WAS A PAIN IN THE ASS :(

I read about how challenging it was, but I didn't think they were that serious. THEY WERE FUCKING RIGHT.

...I hate Treetops.

I don't like the Agent whatever his number is challenge in Fireworks Factory. That sucked.

BEST : SPYRO WORST : ENTER THE DRAGONFLY

ETD had so many glitches in it. i hated playing that one. the first Spyro was really good, it had a nice balance of hard and easy things. After that they seemed to be getting really easy as they kept going. I am however finding the PS2 (the last two) to be a little more challenging, but that might be because i don't spend all day playing like i use to.

I am a huge fan of Spyro... that is, the first three Spyro games. Anything aside from Spyro the Dragon, Ripto's Rage, and Year of the Dragon is pure garbage... except for The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning. It was alright. Not a favorite, but not bad either. I still prefer the original three over it.

The best one is most definitely Spryo 1 for me. The levels were so unique and I didn't cringe so much at the voice acting as I did with the other two games. xD But seriously. Once they came out with Enter the Dragonfly, every Spyro across the world just kind of wanted vomit in Insomniac's face. They SHOULD NOT HAVE sold Spryo. :x

QFT. My god. I don't think I've played a level in any children's game that was THAT difficult. I mean, you have to jump off the ramps at a certain angle (what kid would know this?) and do all this flying crap. >.< I had to cheat and use the 99 lives code to beat that level. 8D But yeah, I finally beat that level after like, 2 hours of pointless jumping off of ramps and losing like, 20 lives. D: But beating that level is SO WORTH IT. Because that's pretty much the only level that stops you from getting to Gnasty's Loot since all the other levels you can find the gems semi-easily. But Gnasty's Loot was sooo much fun. :D Just getting to fly around everywhere and collecting all those magenta gems... mm. But yeah. Spyro was amazing. :P

I've only played up to Enter the Dragonfly, and want to give the newer Spyro games a try sometime :) I heard that the most recent ones are good. Year of the Dragon is my favorite and I still play it all the time, especially when I want some cheering up. Hunter is so funny :D I also love Bentley, Agent 9 and Sgt. Byrd. And we still joke about Moneybags and his "small fees."

I remember how proud I was when I got that one dragon In the Treetops that required the supercharge ramps ^_^ The hidden dragon in Haunted Towers was another tough one. Then the hardest dragons would just say "Thank you for releasing me" :P

...Don't remind me of that Haunted Towers dragon :( I was searching for /hours/. I ended up looking at a guide which still confused me. But I eventually got it.

I've only played the first 3 Spyro games. of course, the first was...okay, at best. the other two were really fun.

I lost hope when Insomniac stopped making Spyro. Like that Gamecube spyro. theo ne with the dragon fly babies. ugh, kill me.

I heard the newer Spyros that 'reset' the series were actually pretty good. Of course, I've got alot on my gaming plate, so I can't really get my hands on them right now!

The Eternal Night is just. too hard for me. Sad as I am to admit it, I'd rather take another go at Treetops than attemt to swing my Wii remote anymore. :P

Oh, how I love the original PS1 Spyro trilogy. ❤

My best Spyro experience was defeating Spyro 1 for the first time. It was my first Playstation game, and I loved the different, colorful dragon worlds along with the music. It's still fun to play after all of these years.

Releasing that certain dragon at Tree Tops was extremely difficult, though. xD

My worst experience was definitely playing Enter the Dragonfly. I was so excited for a PS2 Spyro game, but was seriously disappointed with it. The extremely long load times with all the glitches made the game unplayable for me. Thankfully it was a rental.

I haven't played anymore Spyro games since Insomniac stopped developing them. The new Legend of Spyro series story and gameplay is so different from what I researched, so I never bothered renting or buying those games.

At least I still have my old PS1 Spyro games to play. ^_^

I gotta say the first one was my favorite, just the plot I loved, where you had to rescue dragons from stone. I wasn't a fan of Riptos Rage, he looked to lame to be a cool boss, but Year of the Dragon was pretty good!

I grew to love Treetops when I mastered the charge hehe, it was the second to last level I had to beat to get the level 100%.

I never really played at after Year of the Dragon, actually I am not even sure if I ever beat that one;/

SHIT, Treetops was hard. I agree there. How ironic that I actually just got done playing with Year of the Dragon.

Year of the Dragon is a bastard, but I love it. Ripto's rage, I loved only for Crush and all that fun stuff. The first was pretty good as well.

I am the only one here that's probably never played Enter the Dragonfly, yeah? But I bring to you another piece of trash from the series. Shadow Legacy for the DS. You would fall through the ground, the game's touch sensitivity SUCKED, making it nearly impossible to do the right things, cause to turn smaller you had to make a circle. Which was literally almost IMPOSSIBLE.

My final thoughts. Don't buy it.

Spyro 1-3 for the Playstation will always live on as the best. P:

Exactly!

After I played Enter The Dragonfly, I decided the new company failed at making Spyro games. Insomniac should have never sold it. T.T
