so the top10 largest shops list is fucked. its filled with 10 galleries, because it judges largest shop based on the amount of different items.

all ten 'shops' are categorised as a 'shop' by their owners, when their purpose is a gallery.

i left all ten users a message, wherein i asked them to please turn their 'shop' into an actual gallery, because they fucked up the actual top10 this way. i told them i blamed them for this.

I don't think I spoke in gibberish, so why is this bitch replying like that when what I told her is the truth? I am just frustrated with the messed up top10. obviously this isnt high on Staff's priorities, but at least us users can try to 'fix' it.

edit From what i can gather, targeting users (which this topic is doing), is allowed, unless I am targeting users who have blocked me (which I am not). Correct me if I am wrong.

They might be shops stocked with items for the hoarder achievement, so they'll sell the things after they get it.

That sucks. It's pretty simple to change it to a gallery whilst collecting items and then change it back when the items are going to be sold :S

I realize that there is no way (that I can think of) where staff can actually create a 'fair' top10 for largest shops, because technically these 10 galleries could be considered a shop if they sell 1 item, but can't you see how this NOT makes sense?

I doubt any of them would change it if it would remove them from the list. Even if they shouldn't be on it.

Doesn't make sense, I'll admit it, but they can do whatever floats their boat since it's not really against the rules.

The only actual solution to the problem I can think of would be removing the 'Largest Shops' highscore list.

Oh how unfair.. D: (for the people who do have a large shop which is selling stuff..) I hope the other users will be more understanding than the first one.

But I agree, it is unfair for the real shop owners. They'll never make it to the top 10 this way, since they are actually losing items from their shop by selling them, while the "gallery" owner just keep adding items.

I thought the Top 10 was based on sales?

But seriously, there's already a section designated "Largest Galleries." If you're hoarding or collecting things for an achievement, why take that top shop position? 'Largest Shops' should be renamed: 'MORE ITEMS ON DISPLAY, BUT NOT FOR SALE!'

I know I have two extra 'shops' that I changed into galleries so I could hoard stuff, but I have one main shop which I autoprice. I know on other sites, megashops/malls are viewed by users and people actually like -buying- from them p:

No, but seriously, that;s a harsh reply. I think people do it because they're to lazy to try and get on the top 10 galleries list so they whore up the shop list :x Slefish, but what can you do until staff fix it? -Shrug-

I agree that they should switch to galleries, and I certainly agree that the 'top 10 shops' should be based on sales, although there are some folks that might try to unbalance that by setting up massively overpriced items and buying them from friend's shops to help them get on the list.

As for her being rude, if a stranger approached you and said they disagreed with how you were running an aspect of your Subeta life, you might be inclined to be less than respectful telling them to mind your own account.

It wouldn't be appropriate, sure, but there's a strong tendency to feel it's okay to be 'bluntly honest' when it's done to other users, but it's 'rude and bitchy' when it's done to you.

And I'm using You in the general 'you as any user' rather than 'you, stijn'.

People can hate me all they want, or think I am a freak or a monster, it really doesn't matter, but when I point out something that could be done -better-. No, wait, something that should, and could be done -right-, and the way -it is supposed to be-, I'd like people to pick up on that logic. Even if you change it in secret, and publicly give me the finger. It's not about me or you, it's about Subeta!

One thing I've learned over the past years is that if you want somthing, ask nice:) I'm not pointing out that you were rude, but as yizzle-poo said, you could've asked a bit nicer.

i think a good solution would be to only count items that are priced (i.e. ones that dont say "display only"). i dont know how difficult that would be programming-wise though.
