I study Visual Arts, majoring in jewellery design and recently got the news that I was accepted as part of Sydney University's exchange program.
I'm currently applying for Alberta College of Art and Design, but I also have the choice to go to either Rhode Island School of Design or Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. The places I can go to are limited because there aren't many places that offer jewellery design within an art course.
Would anybody have any useful information about attending any of these institutions? I still have time to make a proper decision about it.
Wow! congratulations :) i've no idea where these schools even are, apart from america, so i'm no help :( maybe look at the school's websites and compare different things they might offer..things like that can affect you decision. and of course, you have to think about accommodation and all those things..maybe consider the whole area where you'll live if the courses are similar?
I've already thought about/done those things already when I initially handed in my application form, haha. I'm kind of hoping there's somebody around that either attends or has visited any of the places before. ^^
Alberta and Nova Scotia are in Canada. C:
Well, I've been to Rhode Island and my husband is from Alberta. Living costs currently are lower and employment is easier to find in Alberta. People there are generally very laid back and easy to get along with. Winters are incredibly cold. I don't know exactly where the campus is, but overall, Alberta is a pretty hospitable place to live.
Rhode Island is beautiful, for one thing. From my experience the people there are very opinionated and set in their ways, whatever those may be. It's a little bit expensive compared to other areas in the eastern U.S.
Personally, I would probably wanna go with Alberta if I were gonna be going to school for any extended period of time. But of course it's all about your personal preference and what kind of living style appeals to you. =)
haha, well i knew one was in america..facepalm good luck c:
I don't know about the schools themselves, but as for the places
Nova Scotia - weather can get wet cold and rainy. hope you like fish! Alberta - not wet, good shopping in edmonton, no pst! (provincial tax)
Not a lot of info there either I guess. ^^; The maritimes is very beautiful (I was thinking of going to New Brunswick myself) if you love life by the sea (though I'm guessing it's a little colder than Sydney). While Alberta is a lot more urban. Congrats on your choices! :)
