if I'm not mistaken they're from an unretired costume trunk, right? I'm pretty sure I even have the trunk sitting in my vault, but I don't want to open it because I'm saving it for the next round of retirements (I HAVE A HUNCH IT WILL BE NEXT OK)

I'm not surprised about the price, though. It's a good ankle item that layers well. Aren't many of those.
possibly because they're easy to match so people who've opened the trunk have kept the socks resulting in some random ones being left on the shop search? @; i know i discount the hell out of my items when i actually get around to selling them, but when they're sitting in shops i just name a random ridiculous price xD

i'm guessing they're over-priced because some ignorant person got them and didn't know they were an mct, saw there was none in shops so just set the price to what they thought they'd sell for. or a jerk got them and put them in shops to see if they could trick an ignorant person into buying them, and everyone else just followed suit.
