I like looking up the history of the city I live in, and I just found a piece that I never knew about.

There's this really pretty Architectural building behind one of the highrises in town, and I've always loved the structure of it. Turns out it's actually an old train station. Pretty nifty. There's also another train station about two blocks from my house, which there are trains still regularly passing by daily. You can even see the old tracks that led right up to the building, but they're embedded into the parking lot.

What interesting facts have you found out about the town/city you live in?

That's cool. My city is not one to keep old buildings :( Sad, really.

There used to be a train station in my town. It was a pretty big deal, and my little town was pretty big, but then the automobile was invented and the military set up a camp nearby, and my little town was forgotten.

In my hometown, I discovered this spring I totally didn't know existed. And it turns out the spring was what brought people to the town to begin with, before the military moved in.

I'm a history nerd, though, and did a lot of volunteering with the historical society when I was in highschool, so I picked a lot of this up from them.

My town was once called the murder capital of the world. It was because of people like Edmund Kemper and Herbert Mullin in the 1970s. D':

my city is one of the biggest city in the bay area or something.

it's been here since like the dawn of time. there's a lot of hispanic influence, because i guess those were the first people to settle here. a lot of the old buildings are still around. the old church is still up, oldest school is here.

none if it is terribly interesting. tom hanks is from here :'D!
