Okay, so here's the thing. I've been with my boyfriend for nearly 9 months (25th of May), four of those months being long distant. I really don't know what to do! Right now we're long distant again, and it's always hard to think of something to get him, any ideas? I've done the following already:
Eek, I don't know what to dooo. Please help meee!
Do you celebrate every monthly anniversary?
Why can't people just stick to yearly...it's saves so much money. And doesn't make you look like a clingy love-sick couple.
I agree with what The_Pie said. It's not necessary to celebrate every monthly anniversary. In doing so, I think other milestone anniversaries lose their meaning, and then you start running out of gift ideas o_o
Why don't you skype with him? So you can see each other and talk to each other.
Heh i have to agree with previous opinions, it'd be much easier to just celebrate yearly. At this rate you'll be hard pressed to think of something extra special if you make it to a year XD. But for the time being, since you seem to be creative perhaps paint or make him something? Or a gift that represents something special to you both?
Haha, yeah well I have thought about doing it yearly, but I like getting presents every month. And they're not necessarily expensive, we usually make them ourselves and stuff; the only times we actually get each other things that are expensive are 6 months, (one year hopefully), birthdays, and christmas.
Collage of pictures of you two together. I did it when I was dating my husband, he loved it. Easy and sentimental. :)

Try getting him lots of small things that involve some of his interests. Thats what I did for my BF for christmas. I bought most of it on etsy.com, and spent under $30 for 6-8 items. He really enjoyed it. :D We never bothered with the month anniversaries, just years mostly.
