that's just racist
me and some friends were up at the pavilion and someone had spray painted all over it, nothing unusual they always do, but i didn't realise what it said until some people showed up to wash it off and started snickering about it so i read it it said fuck the English! (i live in Scotland)
stuff like this always happens were i live, but it's not classed as racist, and the fact that half the people were i live are English it just seems a bit stupid, and they call people English as an insult i swear some of them just need the heads kicked in
the weird thing is that I've lived other place's all over the UK but this is the only place in Scotland I've ever met people so racist!
do the people around you annoy you with anything?
That's not racist.:/ Insulting, yes, but not racing. They're not saying, "Fuck blacks/asians/et certera".
coughAnd also, there is another topic about pretty much the same thing, is there not? I posted on it earlier today actually...
really?
oh i forgot to add in there like that about ever race APART from the scottish, they don't even realise there doing it
and it is racist, race is about what country your from, not the colour of your skin e.g American and Germans both whites but it would be just as racist to call them names or degrade them because of were there from
fuck the English!
That's not racist.:/ Insulting, yes, but not racing. They're not saying, "Fuck blacks/asians/et certera".
Wait...so people can only be racist against blacks and Asians? That statement right there is pretty damn racist.
thanks for clearing that up Dizzydazeydani i just can't see any point with it, just seems kind of pointless if going to spray paint at least make it worth a good read XD
I said et cetera, those two were just examples. Way to not read my post all the way.:/
No, were someone is from is there nationality, I thought. To me, race is a certain kind of people, who's physical bodies are different such as with bone structure, their bodies strengths and weaknesses, and other things like that. As yes, skin color counts.
And thank you, , for giving me a more precise definition.:)
like what it said in Dizzydazeydani's quote it's were you were born when it comes down to it it's only really about how ignorant people are
Well, I guess, but I don't think it's were you're born. I mean, if a Caucasian boy was born in... I dunno, China. He'd technically be Chinese, but physically he wouldn't be Chinese. It doesn't make much sense, yes, but that's what I think.
in anyone's opinion it's still stupid that people would bother putting it there
LOL reminds me of a joke Frankie Boyle once made about people thinking Mel Gibson wouldn't make a convincing Scot in Braveheart:
"But look at him now: an alcoholic racist!"
haha, the Scottish aren't exactly known for their love of the English ;D Personally, if I saw that it wouldn't offend me. If someone called me English as an insult, I'd laugh in their face at the ridiculousness of it. Sometimes people will find any excuse to hate someone.

this is sounding like an arguement...im gonna back away
fucked us over? seriously over 200 hundred years ago if your taking that opinion then im going to guess you hate all germans oh and all romans they attacked scotland too honestly grow up
also can i point out if you walked around England it would be very unlikely any one would of bothered putting some thing like 'fuck the Scottish', and if they did it would be just as stupid
yeah i know but the prime minister is Scottish XD and the genral day to day English people have just as much power as the Scottish it's probably just me, i just find it very hard to understand any kind of racism or anything like that XD
sighs Some people are just so insensitive. :X It's hard to prevent stuff like that if it happens often and if people don't see who is doing it.
The only thing that people say at my school that annoys me is "That's so gaaaaay". Nevermind, it just plain pisses me off. If I tell them to stop using that as a derogatory, they ignore me or act like they don't see what the problem is. rage
I agree that some people need to be smacked in the back of the head. :/
LOL, no English person I personally know has ever made a bad comment about someone because they were Scottish... Apart from maybe some playful banter with stereotypes, I'd say the English in general don't have anything against the Scots.
And I agree with dizzy about the rest of your post - it's illogical to hate the people of a nation for something they are not directly responsible for...for example, I don't hate the French simply because the Normans invaded England back in 1066 ;)
