I'm not quite sure, but as far as I know, it's never been throw-able. Perhaps because it doesn't restock at the Avalanche Emporium.

I guess that's good enough for me then. I just fragged them ;p.

Just for reference, won't work, either. is correct that only ones from Avalanche Emporium are meant to work. The pthers are weapons/toys that come from Weapons Warehouse and playing Random.
