Who else is going this year? Any fun stories of prom that'll potentially make me NOT hate all the dramatic teenaged hormone-fueled crap that goes along with it? :)

My senior prom is June 6th! I'm picking up my dress next Friday and I have my hair all picked out! I'm so excited because I didn't go to my junior prom. It's gonna be awesome! There are 10 people in my limo and we're just going to have a great time. We're not going down the shore after (too $$$) but my friend has a pool so we're going back there and going to get umm....well, ya know ;)

I didn't go to mine. I went two years ago with my boyfriend at the time to his. The only funny story I have to share is one of his teachers telling us to "Just get married already." I'm like wtfux he isn't even old enough for me to legally take advantage of him yet. xD He was an older guy. IDK, it was funny.

Mine was like... a month ago. Haha. It was lots of fun, our group was like 22 or so. We made t-shirts, got a party bus, the whole thing. I loveddd it.

Our 'rip-off British prom' sucked ASS. It was essentially a shitty school disco at an army barracks but with dresses and tuxedos. Omg. It was a waste of time.

In Australia we don't have prom but I did have my semi-formal and formal. My friend went over to America and went to prom and it seemed more like our semi-formal that we have in grade 11.

My formal was great though, I thought I'd hate it but there was awesome food and we all just had fun dancing. It was kinda of hard dancing with a floor length dress though XD

Compared to the pictures I saw of the prom my friend went to our formal seems so much more... well formal :P We had it at this fancy hotel and all the girls have to wear floor length dresses and boys suits. While her prom was just at the school I think and it wasn't as dressed up, actually it looked really awesome... the hall looked like some sort of candy land XD

IT's MEOWWWW OR NEVERRRR...

i loved my prom, it was so fun! it was two weeks ago and pretty much my whole year went. those who didn't go regretted it afterwards.

you might as well go, unless you have other plans - you might enjoy it!

I did when I graduated back in '07 (OLD OLD OLD) It was hilarious though (I managed to snipe a dress that wasn't like down to my feet and made of 74938590834 meters of heavy satin) and lots of weird dancing and my schoolmates all dressed up and caking on the bronzer :P

Not so fun part: I was exhausted and hot and sat down on the verandah outside. On the floor. SMACK. Some bastard had puked all over so I got it on the skirt of my dress ;_; luckily my dress was a thin cotton one so bathing it repeatedly in the sink removed stain+stink but I did not feel like a pretty princess after that.

Hope your prom will be non-alcoholic :P

I don't think I am going to my prom next year.

My dad picked out my dress from the Goodwill (Dies of embarrassment) and its all frilly with poofy sleeves. I will die if I go.

Working on filled wardrobe achievement. Almost at 12k!

I had a lot of fun. We all went as a group, and just took turns dancing and such, and one of our friends boyfriends accidently drank the fish that was in the centerpiece. And then afterwards my boyfriend and my best best friend and I went out for waffles and then we headed out to one of the many barn parties and danced some more, and swam in the creek and such. And then I ended up falling asleep between them lol

So as he was fond of saying, he slept with TWO girls on prom night.

And didn't have sex with either one :P

Prom combines everything I don&;t like (teenagers, shitty music, clothing, spending money) into one horrible package. So, no. I did not go to my prom.
This, almost PRECISELY. Not to mention prom is just a popularity contest. I didn't go to mine, and I'm glad I didn't. There's nothing special about it to me.

I had my prom about 2 weeks ago and it was actually a LOT better than I thought it would be. I was actually dancing (which I never do) and just having a good time. Mostly everyone in the senior class went. You just can't let the people who feast off of drama get to you, just have fun, it's your last year of high school and you might regret it if you don't go :)

Most of the schools in my area had their proms a few weeks ago I think.

I'd love to go to a school dance... But ya know, I kind of either need to go to school or be awesome friends with someone who does. Neither works so...

No prom here in Switzerland. Unless it's in the snobby international schools. They just have end-of-the-year discos and stuff.

Mine was about a month ago, and extremely fun. I got ready with a bunch of friends, went out to dinner, got our pictures taken, danced, etc. Usual prom stuff. I think the best moment, though, was when my boyfriend, who listens to mostly heavy metal, sang Our Song by Taylor Swift at the top of his lungs when the DJ put it on. Great moment.

Gee now I feel reaaaallly old, seeing how I graduated in 03' :P

I only went to my senior prom which was on a small cruise ship. It was fun and enjoyable (and most of the people who went I did not really like, the majority of my friends were juniors). Than again I was young and in love back than, among a very small group of agreeable people (we were not close enough for me to use the word friends).

Perhaps that made all the difference.

I think a lot of people just like to drink up the drama on this thread. I guess they set their hopes up too high. Most of the people that actually went, on here, said they had a lot of fun. No point in being sour, guys. Make the most of it.
