Face-Transplant Patient Emerges
I just read this article this morning. It's AMAZING what doctors can do now-a-days.

And agreed. Doctors are constantly surprising me!
:c In the article, it said how kids would tease her, and that's honestly, just cruel.
I got a bit emotional, when they said that she received her new face, and her grandson had kissed her on the cheek, and she could actually feel it.
I wonder how you would handle that psychologically. To wake up accustomed to your own face, for 40 some years, and then to look completely different

That is honestly, just amazing.
It's just so horrible what she had to go through. She wasn't born that way, it was a failed murder-suicide attempt by her husband. Just, wow.
I think this is great, I mean honestly, so many soldiers come back from the war with facial wounds and disfigurements, and this could mean so much to them, and anyone else who has suffered something so unfortunate.

Wow, that's just.. wow.. She must be so happy that it worked!
I saw that picture in the newspaper this morning. I still think her face looks a little akward, but WOW. The improvement is really.. huge!
Did you see that picture in the middle? shudders
Very very cool. Not the destruction, the repair!
It's amazing what people can do these days. I'm so pleased for her. I can't believe people would shout abuse at her. That's incredibly cruel.
At first I saw the pictures and was ''Ew!''
But after reading the article I was impressed by her story. I'm glad these repairs can be made n.n
That is flat out amazing. I'm really happy for her, and so sad that her husband -the man she loved and trusted- did that to her. I hope that she can start new and find the great happiness that karma obviously is going to send her way.
I saw this story on good morning america and I have to saw it's astonishing. Now that lady can walk outside without having people being afraid of her
i saw this on windows live today. its an amazing story, but i feel sorry for that woman, what with everything she's been through. some people are so selfish :/
How wonderful for her.
and with her nose, I'm assuming they built it from cartilage and tissue taken from other areas since they are no actual bones in your nose (but 13 in your face. ugh)
I'm just guessing though, I'm not really sure.

wow that is amazing :) its stunning how doctors can do that now!
Wow, an amazing story! I think that is so rude that kids would make fun of her! That's gotta be hard to deal with. D: I'm sure her life is going to keep on getting better! :)
Wow, I almost cried reading that article, thank you for sharing! It's a wonder at just what technology has been able to do today. And we're increasing that knowledge everyday. It was extremely nice of how the doctors' all donated their time and effort to help her.
she is such a brave soul.
i was totally overwhelmed when i read the initial story (months ago) -- and now to have some sort of closure on the catastrophic event and her progression. i about lost it when she was talking about some random kid calling her a monster or something.
that woman deals with so much more than i could ever imagine. her existence totally touches me and i'm so thankful that she is able to endure despite all the negative. lord knows what she has going on in her head. she is truly an inspiration (and anomaly) to humanity.

Wow.
I believe it was either on Oprah, Inside Edition, or something like that. On the program, she said she was able to forgive the man who shot her from the day he did it. I was utterly shocked when she said that. That is just amazing. I'll go see if I can find the clip.
But anyways, that is amazing. Credit to the doctors and whoever helped her out during this hard time. And she also deserves extra credit for standing up to those harassers.

I believe that is the clip. ^_^
That clip is just amazing. It made me tear up! Her attitude is just... wow. I like when she says how she used to hate her driver's license picture, and now she loves it. It's so true. We nitpick too much about the little things.
